“KEEP AWAY HORRIBLE PLACE”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 September 2007

This is one of the worst hotels I have ever seen in Turkey. I travel extensively for pleasure and business and a travel agency I worked with suggested this place. We arrived, there was noone official to check us in. They took my husband's passport and my national ID card and we could not sign in or anything. So we had no proof of giving them our ID cards. Then we went up to the room, well, it was so small the door was hitting the bed. There were bugs in the bathroom, the screen at the door was broken. It is in a popular location and very very noisy. If you have kids you need to get out of there FAST. But we said OK just for 2 nights we can do this. We went as directed to sign in and our passports back, but the lady ISIK was still not there. I am turkish so I was particularly upset by the treatment and how disrespectful the young people were. Then we got an emergency call and we had to leave. I wanted to talk to ISIK bec my travel agent had said she would help, but she started screaming at me on the phone while I was telling her how my mom was hurt, she kept screaming "you have to pay" you have to pay, I never thought of not paying, but I just couldnt believe my ears. She was RUDE, arrogant and extremely disrespectful. I paid in cash and asked for a receipt. There was noone to give me receipt, I couldnt wait since my mom was in the hospital 5 hrs drive away. I have never seen such heartless people all around the world. That ISIK personality needs to get herself checked and understand that this is the business of hospitality and people deserve respect. I will NEVER EVER go there again. I am not surprised there was no other turks at the hotel. Very horrible place, plus terrible service. I am ashamed as a turk

“Flying Dutchman Hotel, a great find !!”

I stayed at the Flying Dutchman Hotel for just two nights on 6/7 Sept. '06. This small but immaculately presented hotel was a real find. The hotel owners Paul & Isik Lebbink were the perfect hosts. Not to mention the friendly efficient staff immediately made you feel at home.

The hotel location is perfect in the resort centre & only a short walk to the beach ( about 250mts.)

My ground floor room spotlessly clean with enclosed shower (with mat ) ceiling fan, air conditioning, security safe.....all at no extra charge!!

In the front of the hotel is the Buffalo Steak House also run by the owners, which serves excellent food & was as good as the recommendation that I was given by a passer by when I was asking directions!.

The night I arrived there was entertainment in the form of a four piece group who were very good. Elvis also makes an appearance twice a week!!.

I had travelled to Olu Deniz to do a Tandem Paragliding flight from "Babadag" (6550 feet) from my resort in Icmeler, Marmaris.

This was a great short trip to this beautiful resort. Exhilarating, good company, great hotel, great music.......Heaven.
