“Friendly, unpretentious hotel offering excellent value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2010

We have stayed at Flying Dutchman 5 years in a row, and came to like this hotel from our first visit. Over the years we have also introduced this hotel to several of our friends and they have all fallen in love with Oludeniz and the Flying Dutchman and have become regular guests as well. The owners, Isik and Paul, are very friendly and helpful, always prepared to help with any situation you may need to sort out, same goes to say for the rest of the staff. This is a small unpretentious hotel with a homely feel and atmosphere and you quickly get to know everyone on the staff. We have come to feel very at ease and relaxed here and hardly bother to lock our door when we go out. Their Beefeater Steakhouse has some of the better food in town and the Turkish Pizza restaurant on the roof terrace has many good choices on the menu as well. Evening entertainment is good, my personal favourite is a singer/guitarist who has a spanish repertoir and who creates a very nice ambience several nights a week. However, must not forget to mention Elvis night on Tuesdays and Fridays, which is great fun and is a must on our programme at least once every stay. And this comes from a person who 10 wild horses could not pull into an Elvis show elsewhere in the world ! And this entertainment is all for free ! So, nothing bad to be said about this hotel ? In all fairness, there is some noice from the night life in the street, but this is mostly between 9 and 12 p.m, but if you want to be in central Oludeniz this is the price you have to pay, I guess. The hotel is located on the main street with a short walk to the beach and most other activites in town and has as such a very good location. Also, if you are into paragliding you'll most likely bump into other pilots staying at the hotel as well. Excellent hotel considering the level of prices and have no hesitation giving my recommendations. Certainly, you can find more luxurious hotels but not at this price level. We will definitely be back for our 6th year next year! Almost cannot wait !

“Small-Old-Noisy Rooms”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 August 2010

It is in the middle of the noisy down town. The rooms are so small and our balcony was looking at the laundry of the workers!! The breakfast is ridiculous, far behind being Turkish breakfast, disgusting cheese, only a few pieces of things to eat! Such a cheap hotel in every way!

“Perfect for the price.... in Olu Deniz”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2009

We love Olu Deniz, but dislike the large and noisey hotels. So by finding this small and personal hotel in the centre was very lucky..... also the cheapest !!

The rooms are slightly dated, but well equiped - where do you get wi-fi, air con. , hairdryers, mini-bars all included free ??..... they changed sheets and towels daily, and the cleaning lady although a little low on bleach, was always working hard and kept a smile on - she even leaves you some lace work and flowers on your bed !

Breakfast is included and is clean and well presented (no flys), always a choice of two types of egg dishes - or an omlette can be made with no trouble, just ask. Loads of fresh bread, ham, cheese. Then yogurts, cereal, etc...... always fresh melon too.

The Buffalo Steakhouse is ok, but there are restaurants around that are in our opinion alot better, and cheaper - although you will get 10% off as a resident.

The pool is small but never crowded while we were there, and always in the sun, baby pool attached too. The rooms we were in are beside the pool, although you have to climb down the terrace wall, to get in - if you are lazy and don't want to walk round....

The music goes off around midnight so no loud noises to go to sleep to, although you are so central, its wierd - but very welcome.

They will arrange a private, but again cheap airport transfer for you, and this we found so much nicer than the gorrid big coaches, picking all and sundry up, like when we came before.

All in all excellent value for money, well located, and comfortable enough for a week or twos break. Give it a go, you won't be dissapointed.

“What a great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 June 2009

have stayed here a few times, great little hotel, basic but kept very clean.

Sfatt are fantastic and the owners will bendover backwards to ensure you have a great stay with them Isik and Paul are the perfrct hosts.

Bar area is great and is styled on an american steakhouse, the steaks in here are fantastic as are the Ribs. free salad bar with all main courses so you really fill up. there is also a nice pizza place with a great seating area upstairs with massive comfy cusions for you to chill out on or you can sit and over look the main street or watch the Entertainment.

The Hotel / Steakhouse has Entertainment most nights which ranges from bands to singers, the best night is the Elvis night which packs the place twice a week. all music etc is off for midnight so you dont get disturbed if you opt for an early night.

all in all this is a great little family run hotel, great at the proce and you'll be back again and again. I love the place.

“*Lovely Family Hotel *”

This is a small hotel run by Isik and Paul and you couldn’t find a more friendly and welcoming place to stay. Isik and Paul are the perfect hosts and the staff are all extremely friendly
We have stayed here for the last five years as it has everything you could want, Great staff, excellent food and a brilliant location.

It has 15 rooms 3 of them are family rooms. We stay in a family room and it is clean and bright, they are cleaned everyday and the bed linen and towels are changed every second day.
The restaurant is a steakhouse and they serve the best steaks in Oludeniz (better than in the UK in my husband’s opinion) Paul the manager does a great Elvis night twice a weeks it’s not to be missed.
This is not a noisy hotel by any means as the hotels have to turn the music of by midnight, my children go to bed early some nights and you can hardly hear the music in the rooms.
The hotel has a mixture of nationalities staying there British, Turkish and Dutch are just a few, which makes for a very interesting holiday. The children all get along as they don’t seem to let languages get in the way, and by the end of the holiday we have all made new friends and are sad to see them leave.
All in all me, my friends and my family love this hotel, its people and the location and are planning a return trip soon.
I have tried to keep this hotel my little secret as I was being quite selfish and don’t want it to get to popular. But after a previous review I had to put the record straight and say this is honestly the best holiday we have had and we wish we could stay there forever.
