“Modern hotel with friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

Stayed here for 2 weeks in June 2011. Staff were very friendly once you got talking to them. Billy at reception was brilliant. Other reviews have talked about the older guy at the bar not being so friendly, which I can understand but once you get talking, he is fine. The hotel was very clean and at first the rooms have more of a city hotel feel, the rooms are cleaned to a very high standard and the bathrooms are modern. We bought drinks at the pool and ice creams(which were well priced) and were never challenged about bringing food and drink into the hotel as others have commented on, maybe because we bought drinks at the pool bar. We were b&b and the people we went with were full board, the food was ok but it didn't convince me that we should have gone full board and in fact we ate out every night as did the people we went with. One of the reasons was that dinner was not served until gone 8pm every night and so if you have young ones this may not be convenient. The hotel is in A1 position and looked like it was one of the best in olu deniz. Overall, if we were to go back to Olu Deniz we would definitely stay at the Mavruka.

“poisonous fruit”

the warning is for the spray that they use on the trees, not the fruit itself.
we stayed there in september and enjoyed our stay despite the lack of atmosphere, hope to return next year

“Very pleasant with friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2011

We stayed at this hotel in July 2011 for a week having read some really good reviews. The hotel was great, immaculately clean both in our room and in all communal areas. It was on a quiet street but only a couple of minutes walk to all the shops and restaurants and about five minutes from the beach.

The pool was nice although we only really used it late in the day after spending the day out or at the beach. There's a nice chillout area by the pool and bar which was a lovely place to sit and read and relax. We only made it for breakfast once and it was a bit basic, we didn't eat at the hotel on any other occasions, there were too many nice restaurants to try!

Quite a few of the reviews we read had commented on the bar manager being grumpy but we got on very well with him, he was very polite but a bit shy, we enjoyed several chats with him both at the pool bar & terrace bar & think his shyness was mistaken for grumpiness! The terrace bar was manned by 'Billy' who was a lot of fun and made us some great cocktails, we would definitely recommend stopping there for a drink on the way out and way home again!

Overall we were really happy staying here and would recommend it, although we don't have children we could see that it was a very family friendly place. Worth a visit.

Things we'd recommend nearby -
* Sky Sports for paragliding,
* the bus to Fethiye market (don't use the tour companies, they charge a bomb, the bus takes you straight there)
* Buzz Beach Bar for breakfast, lunch, dinner - book a table on the roof terrace for dinner, amazing food, beautiful music and very romantic setting
* Turkish baths, we went to a hotel near the roundabout in the main part of Oludeniz, can't remember the name of it but ask around & people will tell you where the good ones are
* Help Beach Bar, lovely food & very good cocktails!
* Cherry Chow Bar if you want some drunken cheesiness

Things we wouldn't recommend -
* Sunset cruise - disorganised, lots of waiting around, rubbish food that ran out before everyone got some, pretty sunset but shame about the rest!

“Good location but rather soulless”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2011

I stayed here with my husband and children aged 19 and 17 (hardly children really!). Beautifully clean but the hotel totally lacked in atmosphere. The staff always looked miserable. As the bar was always empty we never stayed there for a drink. The breakfasts were very disappointing. They couldn't slice the cheese thinner if they tried! After day one my son and daughter did not bother getting up for breakfast any more. On the first day we asked if my son and daughter could change their room as were overlooking the "rubbish area". They told us the hotel was full! It absolutely was not - we could see that for ourselves! They charged 3TKL for table tennis! Every other hotel we have ever stayed at has not charged - was very surprised about this. No entertainment at all. There were signs about not bringing your own food and drink into the hotel yet there was an empty fridge in the room. What is the point of that? The young boy who worked in the bar was playing pool one afternoon as it was so quiet - the Manager came out and really tore him off a strip - totally unnecessary - I appreciate that maybe staff aren't allowed to do this but he could have had a quiet word with him out or our ear shot! There was also not enough hot water and I had many tepid showers. With different management and staff this could be a fantastic hotel. The location is superb. They also had signs on trees warning about "poisonous fruit". I looked up the fruit in question and it was not poisonous at all! I think that just abouts sums this hotel up.

“Nice stay!!”

Stayed at mavruka July this year and had a really nice time. Hotel was spotless well looked after and believe me i am fussy were i stay. The location is great too!! I must say tho it is advisable to just go B & B. We unfortunatley stayed half board and only ate there once and yes that was enough for us food is not good at all. Staff can be quite miserable at times but cant we all. We got on really well with most of them and had no problems at all. The maid is wonderful and such a happy lady!! I will probably return here again next year. :)
