i dont like to be critical because this is obviously an ideal place for some. the rooms are fine and kept nice and clean. the pool area is the same. the bar area is ok and the breakfast is very basic. the balconies are not of ample cat swinging dimension. it is ideal in my opinion for those who dont really want anything else.
you cannot bring any food or drink from outside the hotel and by that i mean not even water for your room. we arived early in the morning, had a couple of hours kip and then spent the day around the pool chilling out, eating and drinking from the hotel. before going out i went to the azda across the road to get some water for the room. (2 lira at hotel or 0.75 at azda for 2 litres)
as i took this to my room i was spotted by the owner who marched me to his sign about such transgressions. i nodded politely and then did not spend one more penny in the hotel for the rest of the week.
we did spend days at olu deniz beach and had drinks in the evening in happy harrys bar before returning to olu for dinner. on the last day we found the ramos hotel about 100 metres down the road who invited you to use their facilities and were extremely friendly and welcoming. they were very reasonably priced.
we didnt really see anyone eating at the olympos in the evening so cant comment. however, their turkish bbq night was conspicuous by the presence of no one.
we had one english brekky on our last day down the road which was 5 lira and was spot on. also turkish shaves were 5 lira on opposite side of road. cheaper than cheap chips!
go here as a base and go and see harry. dolmus to olu for about a quid each way and take the free bus to billys beach if you want. (lagoon is nice but no breeze and basically stuck there until bus goes back).
