We have just returned after spending 2 weeks at the Bozbey. Having been to Hisaronu many times this was our first at the Bozbey, booked based on the excellent reviews.
Our first day at breakfast we were greeted by Irene, who asked if transfers , room etc were ok only to find out that the hotel had been taken over by some Turkish people and she was no longer manager. Irene was there for our whole stay and made sure we had a pleasant stay, which included organising a private boat trip for a few of us, the new management couldn'y even say hello.
The hotel is in a brilliant location, basic but clean and we had no problems getting our room cleaned, just hand the key to the cleaners who are always about in the mornings. The hotel was not busy, and on occassion my husband and I had the pool area almost to ourselves.
The service under the new management is lacking the expertise the hotel had when Irene and Ali were running it. We asked to order chicken wraps one day for lunch only to be told the oven wasn't on, no pides either. The next day we tried again and were told it would be 1 hour, this was at 2pm, we got the impression they didn't care whether the guests were catered for or not, infact the oven was on twice in 2 weeks. So we went out to eat other guests followed suit.
At 6pm they started playing really loud music so tough if anyone like us goes for a nap before going out for the evening.
Last night we decided to eat at the hotel before leaving for the airport, low and behold the chef wasn't there!!! On our way out Irene let us know he had turned up, so we stayed, the meal was lovely but no way to run a business.
On several occassions when returning for the evening the bar area was in darkness. The new management are not interested in the customers and if they cannot provide facilities for guests to eat and drink at the hotel it will go even further down hill than it has in the short time since Irene ceased to manage it.
We met some lovely people while we were there, Hi to Debbie, Terry, Tracey, Anna, Dean, Izzy , Harry, Brian and Wendy. Irene, it was great to meet you and thanks again for making our holiday special, you continued to look after us even though it wasn't your responsibility anymore which shows the excellent customer care skills you have, its just a pity we didn't find this hotel before when you and Ali were in charge.
