Upon reading the reviews on here about the Yel Holiday Resort last year, me and my partner were very suprised when we arrived at the Yel. We didn't quite know what to expect for our holiday because the amount of mixed reviews that were on TripAdvisor. We arrived at Yel late Sunday night and we were very warmly welcomed by the staff on reception and given our All Inclusive wristbands whilst waiting for another member of staff to show us to our rooms. The member of staff even carried our bags, to show a first good impression, they were very good.
Our room was on a bottom floor. We didn't have a pool view or anything, just a view of the other hotel rooms - which was really nice because of the purple flowers and the landscaping of the grounds is just pure beautiful.
The room itself was pretty basic and could do with some updating - but I did read that it was being modernised in 2012 - so I'm sure anyone who visits after this review then the rooms should be lovely! The shower was very light and didn't feel very clean when stepping out of it and the beds were really hard. The maids did a good job of keeping it clean though and often left figures of origami with the towels on the bed. The TV only had a few channels and I think about 2 channels which had english subtitles - one of the channels being a good film channel :)
The food was fantastic! You will never go hunry here. Everyday there was something different for dinner, and it was really nice aswell. Always welcomed in the restuarant and friendly staff waiting the tables. The breakfast was abit bland though as it seemed to be pancakes every morning.
The pool area was great, sunloungers were not always available as people must of got up at ridiculous o'clock to "reserve" them but they cleared throughout the day. The evening entertainment was fantastic - Ali was definately a people person and knew how to get everyone to join in!
The drinks were abit naff, served in tiny little plastic cups and the cocktails wasn't included in the price.
Also, there was a free shuttle bus to a local beach. It took about 15 mins to get there which was fine -- but you have to pay for the sunloungers there. Also, the journey back to the hotel was horrendous because the bus couldn't quite handle the hills and the engine was really humming up a hill doing about 15mph.
Overall, a really good holiday and if the reviews are even better after the refurbishment - I would definately be happy to return.
