“Great Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

Stayed here in July 2011 and have booked again for June 2012

This is my 15th time to Oludeniz so know the town/area really well and have stayed at most of the hotels

This is a small, well run, friendly hotel which is more than adequate for a week or 2......great rooms,, great bar/restaurant and location (whilst a little noisy with the traffic) is ideal for the town and getting about

It is one of the better standard hotels in Oludeniz and would certainly rate in my top 3

Room Tip: All rooms overlook the pool

Me and my girlfriend were in belcehan at august. The weather has been great for us.but place was not as good as we expected.we thought it would have been better after we read alot of reviews on internet.some of the staff was really ignoring us.maybe because of we didnt spend so much money at the bar.we were so good with other people who was always drinking at the bar.the man at the reception was so friendly and helpful.we had a little problem at our first room and ask for a change.he immediately gave us an another room which was quiter and nicer.
To be honest i liked the area but i wouldnt go back there again.Because they wont spend any time with you as long as you dont have alot money to spend at hotel.

Room Tip: ask for a quite room because some of the rooms can be noisy from the street.

“Great Value Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2011

This was our second visit to this hotel having stayed in several others in Olu Deniz; as previously mentioned, the hotel is basic but very clean with all rooms ensuite and towels changed every day. There was a tv in the room but no fridge, but other than that I could not find fault with anything. The staff were very friendly and helpful without being in you face as often happens in the bigger hotels here. Breakfast was traditionally Turkish, with a choice of cereals, cheese, cold meats, tomatoes, cucumber, hard boiled eggs, potatoes, fruit, olives, yoghurt, honey, jams, gorgeous fresh bread, butter, tea, coffee, and fruit or hebal teas. If this isn't enough, it's a 2 minute walk to buy a full english breakfast cheaply (although why anyone travels abroad then expects english food as standard is beyond me).
The pool as mentioned below is cleaned thoroughly every day and the gardens are lovely. The bar is small but serves it's purpose serving drink and snacks (also has a pool table).
The hotel is relatively close to the lagoon, which is a superb place to go; the beach is pebbles and it can be challenging to get in and out of the sea but great fun! Sunbeds are available for a small charge but very comfortable, and food and drink is available to buy.
The hotel is not in the middle of the town so not too busy, traffic noise was never a problem for us. I can only say that this family run hotel is a lovely place, as is its sister hotel across the road, (Belcehan Deluxe) It's true that you are asked not to bring food or drink into the hotel, but having stayed in Olu Deniz for 12 years, I haven't stayed in a hotel that hasn't stipulated the same. Brilliant value, nice clean place.

“Little Disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

After reading the good reviews on Trip Advisor about this hotel I booked 11 nights but have to say I was a little disappointed.
Firstly no one mentioned the hotel is on a road which leads into the centre of the resort traffic is constantly going up and down more so in the morning when a stream of mini buses taking the staff to their hotels and as all rooms face the pool don’t understand why no one mentioned noise. Also the rule about taking snacks and drink into the hotel, if they didn’t charge more than other hotels for drinks people would not sneak it into their rooms, they even send you a letter if it’s found and threaten to charge your account for the item. If they reduced their prices they would find they would have more people buying from their bar.
The rooms are spotless but basic but could do with more space to hang or drawers for your clothes in as we both were living out of our suitcases. Breakfast was a boring with not a lot of choice, same every day. The staff were great, especially the guys on reception and the waiter at breakfast who were helpful at all times. The pool area is cleaned every day with plenty of sun beds. This is the first resort in Turkey where I have not been hassled by street sellers which is quite refreshing but you cannot barter with the prices either. There are plenty of great restaurants but we found the ones away from the main strip better value and better service especially The Madras where the part owner Alyas from Blackburn is the perfect host and the Indian food is the best, The Blue Star and a lovely Turkish restaurant just up from where the buses start called Cetin where the food is cheap and good. Visit Hisonirou at night as there is so much choice there too for shopping and restaurants and is only a short bus ride away.
We booked our trips with Bloody Gorgeous on the Strip and the jeep safari was the best ever, laughed from the minute I got on jeep to the minute i got off, such a great day.
Personally I think Olu Deniz is over rated and expensive to other parts of Turkey and the lagoon is a let down as its pebbly and not as you think from the brochures. The better beaches are on the other side of the lagoon Sugar Beach and Seahorse which are of man-made sand will free access.

“A well managed, clean hotel offering good value.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2011

The hotel is well situated for the beach [15 minute walk] and for the pedestrianised shopping/restaurant area[ 10 mins]. The rooms and balcony are small and the upper floors are preferable unless you require easy access to the pool. The grounds, poolside and rooms are kept very clean with the a/c performing well, the shower hot and with a good water pressure.[ Don't forget your soap and wash basin plug]. Breakfast was available on a lovely terrace overlooking the pool, the food was always fresh with cereals and continental style cheese and cold meats. The choice was limited and could be repetitious for a 2 week stay.
Like most hotels in Olu Deniz , Belcehan Beach operates a policy of no drinks or food to be taken from outside into the rooms, this could prove expensive for families. The conversion rate in the hotel was 2.60 lira to the £ , but in the town 2.83 was available .
A trip to Blue Lagoon is a must with great location and facilities but with a charge of 4.5 lira per person and sunbed and umbrella and cafe prices that reflect a captive market try the land side of the lagoon with 4 resorts [ Sun City the best} offering free entrance and one with free sun beds.
There are some excellent trips available from Olu Deniz and good value, my wife and I paid £ 86 total for 4 full day excursions , 3 incl. lunch. The jeep safari is really good fun and goes 200 kms in the mountains, you'll never forget the look on the local kid's faces when they try to soak you with a hosepipe. The Dalyan river trip is highly recommended with mud baths. a leisurely cruise and turtles to view.

Room Tip: Unless you require easy access to the pool choose a high floor, the corner rooms {205,206,305 and 30...
