“Good Hotel and Great Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011

First time to Turkey, spent a week on a cruise ship and then second week in the Green Forest. Food was excellent, what a choice. Breakfast all you could ask for, lunch excellent and dinner absolutely no complaints there. Like other people who have revewied this hotel I would have preferred more typical Turkish deserts but it was no loss especially to our waistlines.

The hotel was spotless could not say anything else, beautiful rooms and a bathroom I would have been happy with in my own home. Cleaning staff and reception staff very nice and very helpful.

Dining room very nice only complaint when it rained no way to get to it without getting soaked, but that is a chance you take going in October. We found only one member of the dining room staff, the fellow who dished out the drinks to be "grumpy" unfortunately he also worked in the bar in the evening, a smile occasionally would have been good, he was excellent at giving you a half glass of wine or maybe beer.

Bar as far as we were concerned, awful, not enough seats neither inside or out and of course when it rained outside seats wet and no shelter. No indoor area of any kind. Entertainment dreadful perhaps better in the busy season who knows.

However in saying all this we had a good holiday but doubt we will return to this hotel.

“best Turkish hotel we've stoped in”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

I agree with the last 2 reviews
its a lovely clean hotel ,staff so friendly
rooms great
food head & shoulders above any Turkish hotel we've stayed in
my wife is very picky [I'll eat owt ] & always found something to enjoy.
IT's location is good & either free bus or Dolmus to oli deniz were good.
the free laptop in the reception a great idea
The only let down was, as it was end of season and cold on a night
the entertainment was non existent, a bit heating and music in the bar would have been
appreciated too .
would definitely visit again but not so near end of season

Room Tip: all rooms seemed ok

“Sorely let down by the food and bar areas”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

We have just returned from a week at the Green forest and I must admit it was the worst hotel we have visited in Turkey. The hotel itself is clean and tidy and the views are stunning, or I would have scored it poor. Another thing in its favor is there was not a Russian to be found in the hotel.
The hotel is ideally situated to walk in to Hisaronu and a dolmus to Olu Deniz and Fethiye.
The staff are great and the rooms are fine. Unfortunately this is an "all inclusive" hotel and the food was poor, very poor. There was very little to choose from and what was available was cold. It got to the point where we ended up eating in town. We had Breakfast made up of bread and jam, no lunch apart from a Pizza from the snack bar or the great pancakes that are served during the afternoon. This hotel is a lot of pluses and minuses, As a note it would be worth mentioning that the restaurant is up a lot of steps, but the view from the outside eating area is pretty.
There are coffee and water machines around the hotel but it is self service in small plastic cups? You cannot get a glass of water or cup of coffee at the bar / restaurant.
The rooms have a free safe and a fridge, but the fridge is never stocked after you get 2 small bottles on arrival.
Saying that the hotel is clean tidy and in a good location cannot justify the 5 star rating.
We stayed at the Montana pine 6 years ago and really wanted to revisit Hisaronu but the Montana was let down by the rooms, hence picking the Green forest, we wish we had returned to the Montana!
Maybe it was post shutting down period?

I am not slating the Green forest. If you can get it for a good price then by all means read the other reviews and make your own decisions. Me personally I would not return. We have been to Turkey 6 times (twice this year) so its not like we do not know what to expect, not all hotels in Turkey are of the same standards, you pays your money and takes your chances. We paid the same to stay (a little less actually) at the Rixos Tekirova in April and that was a proper 5 star hotel. We looked at the reviews as we always do before booking and this is the only time we have been disappointed.
Unfortunately Hisaronu has lost all of its charm from 6 years ago and is now a loud tourist trap, with all the "trimmings"

“Turkey Part 2!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2011

Green Forest Hotel was our 2nd trip to Hisaronu, (2 years ago) we'd decided against staying at the same hotel and we wanted all inclusive. This was place was massive! The rooms was spacious and clean, the view from our room was picturesque.

The entertainment sometimes got a bit annoying, you'd just been settled down on the sunbed and you'd have someone at your side trying to get you to join in with something.

The food was lovely, a good variety and the fresh meats/fish that were cooked at lunch and dinner in front of you just looked so yummy. The variety of salads were amazing and i've never seen so many amazing looking puddings! Being all inclusive you need to make sure you keep up with going out or even just going for a swim otherwise you'll just pile on the pounds.

I highly recommend Hisaronu, the town during the party season is really busy and there is a lot going on. I especially think people should go the show in town. The make up and dresses that the guys are in are stunning and they are a good laugh

Room Tip: Any of them are fine but if you're a late riser and don't want the noise from the pool go on...
