Before we went to Ova in 2009 we always believed that you should never visit the same place twice as there are so many other places to see. Yet here I am writing my 3rd review and looking forward to going back this August.
When we arrived at Ova we could hear the family dance starting so our boys, aged 14, 11 and 6 legged it out of the minibus to join in leaving us with the luggage! Luckily for us the photographer (sorry, i can't remember his name) saw us struggling and helped take our cases to reception. After we checked in we were greeted by Tutu, Leo, Multi, Deniz, Byrom and the bar like we were long lost family and that is what makes Ova so special. You're not just another holidaymaker, you are part of the Ova family.
The Entertainment team is what keeps our boys wanting to go back every year. Tutu is like a 4th son and such a good role model, our boys adore him. Leo, Tutu and Multi did an amazing job of keeping us entertained day and night. god help you if you're on the opposing team to Leo in Waterpolo!!
Our room was spacious and the cleaners did a great job of keeping it clean. The gardens were beautiful as always and I swear this year I'm putting one of the gardeners in my suitcase and bringing them home!!
the food was delicious. Yes there is chicken everyday but there is always an alternative and its always cooked differently. even our fussy 14 year old liked the food. Deniz and his team work hard to make sure mealtimes run smoothly. My only suggestions is that maybe have cold meatswith the salad and jacket potatoes at lunchtime.
We had a Turkish bath and massage again. Great prices and great massages. it was good to see Yvonne again and have a daily gossip.
The sunbeds are still a problem which seems to get worse each year but we are our own worse enemies for getting up at stupid o'clock to put towels out. However 2am is a joke. The only solution I can see is to keep the sunbeds paddlocked together until say 8am then everyone gets a fair chance.
The upstairs pay bar was nice to go to after all inclusive finished and have a chat with the GM Mehmet, who is a lovely guy and is very passionate about Ova and his country, and the Entertainments team. Leo had just got married before we arrived and it was great to meet his lovely family.
We went to the beach once which was a different one to the previous year. When we arrived and saw the restaurant to be honest we thought what a dump but we had a lovely lunch there so it goes to show not to judge a book by its cover. We hired a pedalo and went out around the lagoon which was beautiful.
We walked 10 mins into Hisaronu a couple of times to stock up on our dodgy designer goods! Its very lively is Hisaronu and nice to spend a couple of evenings there. On the way back we usually called into Jimmy's bar for a quick cocktail or 4! He is a sweet guy and there is a nintendo WII there to keep everyone amused.
I could go on and on about how great Ova is but the fact that we are going back for the 4th year running must tell you how good it is. We can wait till August to return and see our Ova family and meet up with the good friends we have made there.
