We have just returned from a week in Belek, Turkey which included 4 rounds of golf on the two courses attached to the Sueno Golf hotel.
On arrival, we were informed that we had been upgraded and the room was both very large and very pleasant. The view from the balcony was over the golf courses and the lakes. It was a beautiful view and it proved fascinating to watch the birds on the lake and the giant koi carp feeding in the lake. It was also amusing to watch so many golf balls being hit astray and ending up in a watery grave. It was not so amusing when I did the same thing the next day!!
The temperatures ranged from a chilly 7 degrees in the morning to 21 degrees in the afternoon. The beach was "closed" meaning that there was no service on the beach.
We were on a all inclusive deal and it was good value. The food was good but not great. it was a buffet style but there was also a grill where they made omelettes, served chiken skewers etc. My wife and another lady in our party did not like the house white wine but the red was OK. Generally speaking, the food looked great but did not taste quite so great. Good but could have been better.
All of the staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful. On a number of occasions people waved a greeting or said hello when they were obviously busy, but it seemed like they wanted to make the effort. A very pleasant experience.
The hotel spa was nice although I had hoped for a proper hard massage rather than just a massage which was pleasant. The golf courses were both very challenging. The Pines being the more diificult. Well worth a round or two or three on both as they are very different from other courses I have played on. The undulating fairways are fascinating. We played one extra round to that booked beforehand and had to pay 83 euro, which I feel is a more than enough.
The hotel has rooms both on the golf course side which were in the shade and on the front side where there is more sun. In November, it would have been nice with the sun but in the summer, this might have proved be too much if the temperatures head up to the high 30`s.
There was a bit of a fuss when we checked out. Apparently the container for the toilet brush was reported broken in our bathroom but it was not broken by us. They wanted 52 euros for it. After quite a bit of discussion, the payment demand was withdrawn. It was a friendly discussion but I still felt a bit like I had done something wrong.
Not much for the kids to so here in November.
Overall, we enjoyed the stay very much. The lovely room, very good golf courses and the friendly staff helped to make it a memorable stay.
Room Tip: Front rooms with sunshine in the winter and rooms looking over the golf course in the summer.
