Travelled to the Papillon Zeugma in the 3rd week of October for a family break. Our party was made up of 2 adults and 2 children, a 9yr old and an 18 month old. We booked this after speaking to a friend who has been for 10 consecutive years which in itself speaks volumes. In fact most of the guests we spoke to were repeat guests.
On arrival at 23:00 the reception staff were brilliant, imediately calling for the bell boy [who was knee deep in our luggage] to take my wife and baby straight to the room as the baby was asleep. Then made sure a cold beer was brought whilst I checked in. The room was amazing with a bath the size of a swimmimg pool. Mini bar fully stocked, TV and a double bed for us and a single bed for the 9yr old, not the good old pull out thing you normally experience.
One thing people must remember is that the weather at this time of year can be rainy at times but generally is still good. We had a full week of sunshine with the temp around 27 degrees every day. Dependant on how the weather has been previously will depend on what restaurants, activities are available and where the evening entertainment is held. During our stay there was 3 shows outside of which all were top class, especially the dance troop...as good as diversity!!!!
Food was varied but always something for everyone.....pity the BBQ is closed this time of year as I hear its excellent. I eat anything so no problem but I can imagine that if you are quite selective with your food, you may struggle for variety.
Beach is excellent and the sea warm. The kids loved running round, catching fish and feeding the fish from the pier. Indoor pool area again is excellent.
My eldest son went off to play footy each day with all different nationalities which is good. Talking of different nationalities I constantly hear gripes about the Russians, Germans, Dutch etc. We have never had any problems what so ever. This is our second visit to Belek and I can say the only people who have upset me and my wife were a group of English people who found it acceptable and funny to keep throwing towels into the pool. Pathetic and no wonder the English get a bad name.
In 2010 we stayed at the Cornelia Deluxe and found both hotels to offer high standards. Maybe the one thing that you could say is that there isn't alot of at the Zeugma at the time of year, is the restaurants. You are limited.
But that hasn't stopped us from booking again for 2012 because this hotel, the staff, the surroundings and everything you need to make a holiday special, they have in bucket loads at the Zeugma.
One special mention to Baris the Guest Relations manager who was a diamond. Nothing was aproblem and even with our late departure date, allowed us to keep our room on for no extra cost.
Baris I will be in touch soon and can't wait to see you again in October.
