The hotel was conveniently located in Tomar. The staff were very helpful and recommended an excellent restaurant.
The rooms were clean and comfortable and were serviced every day.
We would stay there again, it was really good value for money.

The hotel is in a quiet location near to the bus stop (not a noise issue) and only a few '00 metres from the heart of the old part of Tomar where most of the restaurants are to be found. Crossing over the river to the new part you will find shops and a few more restaurants etc. Free parking is still possible either opposite the hotel.
Very little English spoken by the staff but not a problem if you learn a few words of Potuguese before you go.
Rooms are basic and clean but the beds have footboards so were too short for me (185cm) but would not be for most. Bathrooms dated and small but clean.
Breakfast the usual breads, cheese and ham with some good coffee. We paid 45 euros per night inc. breakfast but compared to our other stops this was only average value for money.
If you want something more upmarket then the Estalagem de Santa Iria is in a nice location and looked ok from the outside.

This was the first stop in a circuit from/to Lisbon airport to Tomar, Guarda, Coimbra, Figueira da Foz and Sao Martinho do Porto. Three nights were spent in each except Coimbra just 2. We had a hire car so went sightseeing but if you are just visiting Tomar then one or two nights there would be enough depending on time of arrival.

If you go to Trovador by car:
Ask for Tomar bus station or train station is.
The Hotel Residencial Trovador is in front of.
It ia a family-hotel.
Clean, simple, with a price just.
Only breakfast.
Ideal to stay and go to see the Templarios.
