Castelo de Vide probably doesn't get a lot of tourist's but it's a wonderful place to stop over for a day/evening. In this sleepy castel village with it's proud locals, Casa Amarela got it all down to a 5 Star B & B in. The rooms are splendid and the bathrooms are the size of most hotel rooms. Every detail of this 18 century home was done with an architectural eye and it clearly shows with the dedication of the family's love of their historic home town.

The Breakfest was set for royalty with plenty of wonderful European/Portugese food. If you are near by, don't miss out on these accomodations. We loved it!

Having read positive reviews, I reserved by email (100 € for one night, quite high for Portugal). This reservation was confirmed by the hotel. When we arrived, at 5:30, we found the address without difficulty, right in the town centre. But the door was closed! No sign of life, not even a message displayed. Half an hour later we rang again. Another person was waiting, too. But nobody opened. So we left, to look for another hotel ...

We stay at casa amarela in December and it was a wonderful experience, Casa Amarela it´s a charming 17th century townhouse, now a beautifully restored small hotel. With just 8 double rooms and 2 suites, all differently decorated, it is a perfect place from which to explore the fascinating town and surrounding areas.
