We were going to stay in Marvao but my mothers knees couldnt cope with all the hills so we went to castelo. This was a nice hotel, basic, clean right next to the town. Parking is in front of hotel and is pretty safe. Pool was small and cold but my daughter didnt care she jumped in and had fun anyway. We had dinner at the hotel and it was OK.

We stayed at this hotel for few days and was vey nice. The hotel was clean, quite and closed to town. Nice breakfast!

We had a great one night stay in the Sol E Serra Golfe Hotel although it did look different to the picutre on the web site . The room was large and the receptionist was really helpful when we insisted on a double bed. He just raised his eyebrows and smiled. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Only one downfall, it was a very hot day so we went looking for the swimming pool, it was green with slime and it looked as though it had just been left full of water over the winter months. What a shame. Otherwise it was a very good stay.

To say 3* is an exaggeration, this is a simple hotel with an excellent location. Staff have had little or no training, management are indifferent to comments re golf- as stated before the golf course closed three years ago - now full of sheep.

We endorse all comments re restaurant, breakfast and evening meal were both indifferent.

Castelo de Vide is a pretty village but is dying due to exodus of young people.
