“Surprisingly good!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

The Bellevue is located south of Manila in Muntinlupa City. The hotel is l in a secured area of out sourced call service businesses. The area is strictly for business travelers visiting these businesses. The call service organizations operate 24/7. There is a small area of fast food restaurants, a Starbucks, and 7-11 to the right as you exit the hotel. Also some ATMs.

The hotel itself is really very nice. My husband and I stayed in the new Tower 1 building which contains the best rooms. The room was very large and well equipped. We particularly like the suitcase bench outside the bathroom which easily held both of our suitcases. Unlike many Asian hotels, there was ample closed and drawer space. The bathroom was huge and had a large shower stall separate from the tub. The room was bright and full of sunshine.

It was late when we arrived so we ordered a room service supper. The menu was small but the food was of high quality and very reasonably priced. It also came within 15 minuts, the fastest room service ever! The breakfast was very good, lots of variety and there was none of the usual breakfast madness. The service was good and the tables were promptly cleared. Be sure to visit the bar on the top floor at sunset for a nice view of Manila.

The internet service was free, but thwas really bad. My connection was dropped many times. The hotel must address this problem.

I visited the pool area on the third floor. The area was on a very attractive out door terrace. The pool was not large but it was easily long enough for lap swimming. The seating area was very comfortable and there was plenty of shaded areas as well as sun. There was a small bar/cafe as well. The pool attendants kept the area very clean.

All in all we found this hotel to be surprisingly good. The staff was very capable and friendly. Late check out was not a problem. I would place the hotel high in the 4 star category. I gave it a location rating of 5 with the understanding that the location is great if you are visiting the call centers or other local businesses, not for tourists.

Room Tip: Ask for the new tower building

“Mixed bag - nice room, good breakfast; huge taxi rip-off; terrible internet”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

I normally stay in the Intercontinental in Makati but needed to be in Alabang for a 9am meeting, so chose to stay here based on positive reviews. My experience was very mixed. Firstly, it's a hard hotel to find - you can see it but it's hard to find the entrance ... our taxi went around in circles trying to find the way in. In the end we were dropped of at the Tower Wing and tried to check in there, they did half a check-in and then directed us off to the Main Wing to finish. All very odd. Generally the staff were very friendly but, as we discovered on leaving, totally corrupt. We tried to get them to call a cab (a normal metered taxi) for us and they said it would be a fixed price of 1800 pesos to get to Makati. The actual rate based on milage and taxi fees in Manila is 269 pesos! So they are skimming off a HUGE take on the taxi fees. So beware of that for you guys who just convert to USD and don't realise the fact you are being scammed. You can get a meter taxi by walking (or taking the shuttle bus) to the Festival Mall as they don't tend to drive by the hotel due to it's odd location.
The room I had (Main Wing, Delux) was perfectly nice and functional. Just as good (possibly better) that the Intercon. Nice bathroom with separate shower as well as bath (I like that), vanity mirror, decent lighting. Fruit was provided in the room. There is a mini-kitchen type of area (but it only really has a bench and a sink, but good for filling the kettle).
Desk area is small. Bed was OK (not perfect) and didn't try the TV but it looked to be a new big LCD screen.
Downside - the internet was free, but it was snail pace. And kept dropping out entirely. Not good enough for business users if you are there more than one night.
The pool deck is a great place to chill out in the evening - can get food from the bar there and they have nice seating. Downside - the pool itself is quite small and very shallow and has some kind of odd covering that feels strange to walk on. The gym looked OK when I looked through the door.
Food was good - perfectly acceptable (I'm not a gourmet though). Breakfast was good - better for Americans than Brits or Europeans though (no grilled tomatoes or sausages for example and the bacon was incinerated US-style).
Overall - I may try a different hotel next time because of the taxi fiasco and the crap internet, but if there is no other choice this is not a bad alternative.

“satisfied, but not impressed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

We stayed for two nights in a 2-bedroom suite at the Tower Wing. We were attending my brother-in-law's wedding and the whole family stayed at the Bellevue for the wedding preparations. The rooms were big, clean, and relatively new. We stayed at the 6th level facing the Main Wing, so no view for us. The king size bed was perfect for me, my husband and our 3-year old son. There were LCD TVs on both rooms and at the living room, so we can watch different programs at the same time. We had a little problem with the internet connection. After I logged in the internet using my mobile, it did not allow my husband to log-in with his laptop saying that we reached the maximum connection. It was fixed the next day, though. The bathroom was spacious, with separate tub and shower. Toilet amenities were just basic. I also did not find anywhere to hang used/wet towels so we had to hang them on chairs.

After checking in, my husband and son met me at the nearby mall, since I was still coming from work. I let the driver bring my bag to leave at the hotel, but they were very strict and did not accept the baggage. A little hassle because I had to carry it along with me at the mall, but it's also good that they take security precautions like that. The breakfast buffet was satisfying enough. They have a good spread of Filipino and Western dishes. Again, they were very strict with dress code in Cafe de Asie. They do not allow guests who are in slippers, or in shorts. It was also a little annoying to see that they allow the foreigner guests to dine in shorts, but they call-out the locals who try to. The couple whose wedding we attended had to have breakfast with their wedding shoes on, lol. It took forever to get the water we asked from one of the waiters. They should really consider re-training their staff at the restaurant.

Overall it was a positive experience. I will probably stay here again if I need to be in the Alabang area.

Room Tip: Get a room at the Tower Wing.

“Home away from home”

Stayed here on business in 2011. What a lovely hotel with pleasant staff.

The older rooms in the main wing are a bit shabby but I was moved to a refurbished room on the lower levels which was really nice! Much more comfortable. I really loved my new room and had no issues. The room service attendant was so wonderful and courteous.

I would stay here again and recommend to my friends.

Room Tip: If I were you, I'd stay in the Tower wing. It's newer and much nicer!

“Comfortable stay @ the Bellevue”

The hotel is located is one of the best areas in Alabang, right among a lot of call centers. However the hotel does maintains its class offering a real good and comfortable stay.
The only 5 star hotel in the area. Good lobby area free wi-fi, spacious clean room, with spacious bathroom. I was put up at the superior room which had the pool view. Rooms are well maintained and comes with a phllips ipod alarm charger, electronic safe box, standard 32 " lcd tv, business desk and chair. For Asian guests - the bathrooms are Eastern style and does come with a bidet sprayer. Comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Complimentary shuttle service to the mall ( Festival mall) or market area nearby. They also have a 711 general store besides the hotel and fast food chains - jollibee and Mac Donalds among other fast foods too. taxi are easily available. overall the hotel was really good. your moneys worth.
