“Probably the best Hotel in Goa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

I have travelled to Goa for the past 12 years and stayed in this hotel several times, my latest visit was for an extended stay and I stayed in the Club rooms situated in the gardens at the rear of the hotel. The Hotel is big enough to get away from it all if you wish and small enough to be intimate and present a friendly warm atmosphere. It has one of the best records of repeat guests in Goa, which speaks volumes for the Management of the hotel, the staff and the amenities it presents. Nothing is to much trouble and the staff ratio to guests is round 2 to 1 which again explains why the services are so good and your every request is acted upon immediately. Guest Relations are always available to sort out any requests or problems you may have in an intelligent and personable manner.

Mondal the head Chef is often to be seen wandering the hotel and restaurants asking guests if everything is okay and if they have any special requests for food. For those who dont like the really spicy Indian food he makes several different continental dishes, whilst I was there we had Chinese, Mexican, English, Itallian and also numerous different Indian dishes, nothing is to much trouble and even the most difficult palates are catered for.

The hotel is like a well oiled machine, extremely high standards of cleanliness, your room is cleaned everyday, towells changed and your room restocked. Every member of staff goes about their business with a smile and remarkably most remember your name, which adds to the friendly feel about the place.

The Animation team although young ensure that you can join in the activities if you wish, but no pressure if you would rather lie back and enjoy the sunshine. For those wanting a little exercise not to mention a laugh there is always the water volleyball held in the pool each day.
The management team including the General Manager Guitry are always wandering the hotel, speaking to the guests and ensuring that any requests you have are aired and dealt with efficiently, they go out of their way to ensure you want for nothing.

Entertainment is first class and regular Gala nights are held outside around the pool which is the focal point of the hotel. This is a major operation but done in an efficient and unobtrusive way and presents the hotel in a different and colourful way, not to be missed.

Situated within a few hundred yards of the beach it is a short walk for those wishing a change of view, and it has to be said that the beach is a splendid place for those long walks in the sun, very quiet and serviced by a lone shack called the Starfish, which is excellent for food and drink. Anthony the manager in the shack will always make you feel welcome wether you are there for a full meal or just a drink.

Should you wish to travel to some of the local towns or villages, I would suggest that you ignore completely the expensive and greedy Taxi drivers parked outside the hotel. Try using the buses from the end of the lane and the train from Cansaulim, a short walk from the hotel, it is a fraction of the cost and you will see Goan life as it really is. What costs you 4 rupees on the train will cost you a 1000 rupees in a taxi, and you wont be taken to shops you dont want to visit so that they can obtain their fees and a large percentage of anything you may buy there. Alternatively use the hotel bikes, its a great way to see the area and also keeps you fit!

All in all a fantastic hotel with great facilities, superb location and the most friendly staff I have ever met, mo wonder guests return time after time, well done all.

Room Tip: Club rooms are excellent value and situated at the side of the hotel in the gardens

“first class hotel”

Stayed at the heritage from 23 Jan till 5 Feb, what an amazing place, these people must be the most friendly that i have met anywhere in the world, nothing is to much trouble, the only thing that let the holiday down was the stupid rule by the Indian gov to stop all the bars and restaurants selling drinks after 11 pm because of elections, i'm English can i vote? NO!!!! Food was fab, hotel clean, pool clean, clean towels every day, free safe in room free, air con, staff will doing all they can to help. only have one very small complaint and that is people leaving towels on sunbed and then going out all day and not using them beds, not that you could never get a bed if you wanted one. the only good tip for anyone thinking of going to the heritage for the first time are make sure that you visit the beach shack that is run by Antony to try the food, (trust me you will go back after the first time,it is that good anything from the lobster to double egg and chips). this was my forth trip to the heritage and i will be going back soon.

“Wonderful staff”

We stayed at the Heritage from 19 Jan - 3 Feb 2012, this was our 3rd visit to the Heritage , unusual for us but the staff first class, wonderful food and brilliant weather, what more can you ask for ? We would not class the hotel as luxurious but what it lacks in luxury is made up with the good hospitality and 1st class service.
Unfortunately my Husband was in hospital for 3 days whilst we were there, Guitry the manager of the hotel went to visit him, we were asked constantly if there was anything we needed and whether we were o.k, all the staff were wonderful especilly Ganesh, Sofia, Anne and the rest of the staff on a daily basis, we cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. If you are looking to buy jewellery, John at the hotel is really trustworthy and will happily clean and carry out any repairs to your own jewellery.
You must make a visit to the beach shack, Anthony who runs the shack speaks English well and is happy to chat and make you feel welcome and so is Joseph & Jack , food is excellent and really reasonable.
Can't wait to go back, many repeat Guests all of whom are all over 50 generally, but if you want good service, good food & a chill out holiday this hotel is for you 5 stars, thanks to all

“What a Fantastic Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

We had our first real holiday here last November 2011 and it was the most fantastic 2 weeks of our lives. The hotel is beautiful with staff that can never do enough for you, but are not pushy and in the way. The room was lovely with a view of the pool that let you enjoy the evenings entertainment alone if you wanted some time to yourselves. The beach was only 5 minutes away and you could either choose to go to the right and walk for miles without being disturbed or turn to the left and see the local shacks (only a few spaced out along miles of beautful beach) where you could sit and sip a cool drink or eat some of the locally caught fish, or talk to the few local traders selling their wheres. The food at the hotel was out of this world for each of the 3 daily meals, choices included local dishes, vegetarian dishes, english options and a variety of salads and desserts, plus snacks by the pool both morning and afternoon. The trips out were amazing and well worth it from visits to the spice farms, the old temples, Anguna Market and the beautiful and cold dip in the waterfall pool in the East of Goa. We borrowed bikes from the hotel and cycled round the local village where everyone waved hello and took a journey on the local bus just to sample the local way of life. The staff and Management were amazing and we would love to go back sometime in the future, I just hope we can find somewhere as perfect for our next holiday. Oh and the sunsets are to die for.

Room Tip: All the rooms are beautiful but if you'd like to be away from the evening entertainment just ask...
