During our stay in the Stellenbosch area we – by chance- found out Graceland vineyards and decided to spend our next christmas week in the garden cottage. What a wonderful decision! The cottage is hidden in a spacious garden on the vineyard and offers everything you need for a relaxing stay. Breakfast is served in a nice dining room of the main house by Sue McNaughton herself who is a very charming and perfect host. We not only learned about the best restaurants in the area but also where to walk and experience the wonderful surroundings. Alternatively, you can spend the day at different places in this gorgeous garden and enjoy the spacious swimming-pool and the amazing views up to the mountains. And if you like pets, this is the place to be; we loved the well-behaving dogs very much.

You have read about it , Graceland should be at the top of your list

Graceland is the ideal start or finish to your Garden Route tour, perfectly situated for that stay in and around Cape Town, Stellenbosch and the Winelands.

Looking over the swimming pool on through the vineyards and up to the mountain beyond is the view from the breakfast table, set in the dining room or on the stoep.
Breakfast is served by Sue McNaughton herself who is always pleased to help with your days arrangements, places to visit, lunch and dinner recommendations and bookings. The girl was everywhere!! in the vineyard before she served breakfast and wine tastings throughout her day. Speaking of wine, a visit to the cellar is not to be missed.

The Attic is a "must stay in", huge room with antique furnishings and an African feel or the Cottage set in the gardens under the Jacaranda tree. Which ever you choose be assured of a very comfortable stay and a blissfull nights sleep in the sumptuous beds.

Having stayed in numerous Hotels, reserves and B&B's in South Africa ,for us , Graceland has been the most warm and welcoming experience.

It was not our first visit to Graceland and hopefully not our last.

Our last stay at Graceland has been in 2007, our first was in 1999. And since then: we really fall in love with this cute, lovely and quiet place in the middle of the Stellenbosch region-probably the most interesting and biggest wine aerea in the Cape!
We have stayed in the Blue Cottage and the Attic-both are very charming! Because of the hosts Sue and Paul we got to know lovely and stylish restaurants in the area we would never have found! Always very helpful! Lovely place to go on holidays! We will go there again and again!

Although we have a daughter living in the City of Cape Town my wife and I decided to locate nearer to a Wedding we were attending in the Stellenbosch area, which itself is only 45 minutes from Cape Town. Such a wise decision ! The weekend was so relaxing and stimulating, as the small size of this place enabled ongoing and really personal interaction with the Owner /Manager of the B&B, who is also the Winemaker of this Vineyard's highly-rated red wines. We learnt so much; we tasted the Wine ;we read;we Birdwatched and we talked with Sue. The views are magnificent, and the accommodation very private and spacious. The breakfast menu was flexible, hot and friendly. A most perfectly situated base for the Winelands and whole Cape experience. Thanks Sue, Paul and family ! We'll be back !
