Great experience, friendly staff and attention to detail makes the stay and trip extarordinary. Room setup was perfect. Breakfast was well served. We asked for early start and they agreed immediately. When we asked for information on nearby attraction, they provided complete information and also suggested alternatives.

I would have to agree with the more negative reviews about the Overmeer. Apart from the view,
- the service was extremely patchy (I had exactly the same experience about the breakfast:: what's the point of asking a guest about a cooked breakfast 20 minutes after sitting. Obviously the Overmeer wasn't very keen to offer a full English breakfast otherwise they would ask the question at the same time as enquiring whether tea or coffee!)
- decor of the room is very dated and the whole place is more reminiscent of a middle of the road motel rather than 5 star accommodation
- really expensive given the poor service and general condition of the hotel
Regretted having booked 3 nights at the Overmeer the second I stepped in!!! (greasy Kitchen smell in the reception area and the dog part of the welcome committee didn't help either). Not worth its 5 stars and the price charged

The hosts and staff are so helpfull and friendly.
The location is the best, overlooking the lagoon from your private balcony.
Breakfast was very nice and tastefull.
So lucky we did find the very nice place in Knysna.
Rooms are very spacious and everything is there.

We got to Knysna with the intention of staying for 1 night. We hadn't booked anything and we so lucky to be referred to Overmeer. The rooms were big, great views and simply great value.

We ended up staying for 2 nights in this terrific Guest House.

I'll be back!
