“Great weekend break, good friendly service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Spent the weekend there with my family.

It was very relaxing, enjoyed the family pool / play area with our little girl,
the setting is great and very peaceful.
Restaurant is also very good.
Thanks to all the staff, for a great time,
I will be back,
also great place to base yourself if you plan on playing golf in the garden route (very central)
Suites are very spacious,

“Excellent accommodation but poor location for Knysna”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

We stayed here for 2 or 3 nights in November 2011. It was very comfortable and the accommodation was the most spacious I have ever experienced. Hardly anyone else staying which meant the atmosphere was non-existent but the staff were very nice and friendly - especially Godfrey in the restaurant. We thought the food was very good and in any case there isn't anywhere else to go! Our gripe was with the tour company who booked us in there as close to Knysna and suitable as a jumping off point to explore the east of the Garden route which it really isn't - 15 minutes from Knysna at least so not convenient. Ridiculous that you have to pay for wi-fi access in your room however (as with so many other hotels) and having to queue up for use of the one PC in reception is not good. However a beautiful setting and very comfortable.

“Great accommodation, shame about the food!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

The accommodation is spacious, tastefully decorated, very comfortable and with beautiful views over gardens and the lake. A lovely place to stay for relaxing and exploring the Garden Route... just don't eat there! The food in the bistro is disgusting, the service appalling, and the chicken livers gave me food poisoning! What a shame that this beautiful resort takes no interest in creating a decent dining experience!

“Superb, five stars does not do it justice.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

We stayed at Lake Pleasant for 11 days and had a wonderful time. We booked into one of the two bedroom suites, the suite was very spacious with a fully fitted kitchen, large comfortable master bedroom, two ensuites and a further guest loo. There is satellite tv with the major news and sports channels and the attention to detail even extends to the excellent maid service providing two bottles of water and milk daily. I have two daughters under the age of four and this has to be one of the most child friendly places we have ever stayed at. We visited the onsite Bistro a number of times, the food is excellent with good variety using local produce. The location is stunning with awesome views over of vlei and surrounding mountains with beautiful gardens to walk in, there is an adults only infinity pool with the added bonus for families of a child's play area and dedicated smaller pool with water slide. I would not hesitate to recommend Lake Pleasant it is one of the most friendly and relaxed places we have stayed in.

Room Tip: We stayed in Suite 18.

“Excellent lodging but major problems at reception and the Bistro is terrible”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 December 2011

We spent 3 days at Lake Pleasant Living located in Sedgefield and not in Knysna. We had traveled by car from Port Elizabeth, on the Garden Road and wanted to stay aroung Knysna to fly back from George Airport to Cape Town. The reception was almost non existant. We arrived there at around 8:30 pm. Because of the hour, we decided to eat at the Bistro. Service was poor and quality of food very under average, to say the least! The rooms were large: suites with a large living room, a same size very large bedroom. One large bathroom and a smaller one. Garden and view were truly great! So we settled for eating out or using a very well equiped kitchen in our room to cook our own food! No internet except in the hall, but the keyboard was so old that I almost had to use a hammer to type and many letters had been erased! Come on, a new keyboard is not considered a major investment nowadays!
