I was driving from Capetown to Port Elizabeth and stayed for two nights with one day to explore. My cottage/lodge had two twin bedrooms and a double bedroom with ensuite. It also had living room with satellite TV, kitchen, another bathroom and a parking slot and I think a family of up to 6 people would be comfortable. The Bell Pub serves good food and drinks at reasonable prices but no longer delivers complimentary wi-fi. You now have to pay. I was only there for a day, and the Belvidere boat (Caroline) was in dry dock. In the morning I went for the lakeside walk. Go down to the jetty, turn right along the board walk and keep going. I found this very tranquil and enjoyable. In the afternoon I drove around; if your time is limited you do not always strike gold. Try the town and the coast.

On arrival we were greeted with a non-alcoholic fruit cocktail.
Our tour company booked our group into separate lodges in the lovely garden.
When opening the door to our private lodge we realised that we did not stay in a lodge but in a large and beautiful fully equipped house, including living room with fireplace, complete large kitchen (seating for 6 people), a two person bathroom with en-suite bathroom and this was only the ground floor. Going up the stairs we could not believe what we saw...again a bedroom (single) and a huge master bedroom with large bathroom, separate bath and shower and on the front side as well on the backside of the house a large balcony with loungers ! UNBELIEVABLE...and this just for the two of us ! All our other tour members received the same type of house.
We had the feeling that we had our "own property" in Knysna, unfortunately only for three days.
Diners at this place kept up to the high standards and we had tremendously taste diners here !
This accommodation was a marvelous experience during our tour.
Only one smaller remark to the management...when people (have to) call reception to have a drink from "the minibar" please don't bring the drink already poured into a glass (one glass for two !!!) but use the known small bottles.

We travelled with friends and booked what we thought were 2 rooms, turned out it was 2 cottages. We had a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom cottage and our friends got a 3 bedroom/2 bathroom cottage! There was a well equiped kithen (with a jug of milk in the fridge for our use) and a log fire all set and ready to use - yes, we used it! The grounds were lovely and the view out over the bay was beautiful. We were there in spring and the main house was not serving evening meals but there is a small pub in the grounds (a 2 minute walk from our cottage) which served super bar meals at very reasonable prices. The breakfast was lovely, served on the porch of the manor house as it was a lovely sunny morning. Only complaint is that we had only one night here and would have liked to have stayed longer

This is a lovely place to get away from it all.Spacious cottages with views over the Knysna Lagoon.It is really peaceful here,beautiful gardens and the Bell Pub to have a good meal.
