We went there for a couple of days but this was the best guest house we stayed at during our 8-day trip in Western Cape...Great view, amazing room and a wonderful host. Strongly recommended really.
Excellent beds and the waves crashing on the rocks a few meters away make up for a great lullaby.

Whale View guest house was the highlight of our trip on the Garden Route. Idyllic, scenic, romantic...what more could you ask for?

We were welcomed with drinks outdoors overlooking the sea, which is literally a stone throw away - where we sat until the sun came down getting to know our fellow guests.

The hotel kindly booked us into a nearby restaurant the first night, which was truly excellent and only a 2 minute drive from the guest house - can't remember the name now!

We stayed in the shell room, which was soooo cute. If we had been on our honeymoon I would have definitely gone for the Sea room, which we had a sneak preview of - imagine a stand alone bath in the middle of your room!

It was very safe, with guarded gates and only a 5 minute drive into the town centre.

We spent a day just chilling out in this guesthouse reading books etc which was a welcome change from the previous few days which were all go go.

If you're looking for a romantic getaway, look no further.

The best thing about our stay in this tastefully decorated guesthouse was waking up to the magnificent view of the ocean and breaking waves just outside our window. That, and the delightful breakfast enjoying the same view, was what made our stay here special. What we felt more uneasy about, was its location within a fenced and guarded compound on the outskirts of Hermanus. It felt like we were in our own little luxurious bubble isolated from "real life", and that is normally not what we look for when we go traveling.

The property is right on the waterfront, no road passing in front. Common area is very nicely appointed with a comfortable seafront terrace. The host made every effort to make our stay pleasant- well done! We had a room with a view of the ocean, however while it was nice it wasn't great and we would recommend anyone staying here to book a room by the waterfront with a terrace. The location is not walking distance to the citycenter/ restaurants and having your own transportation is important.
