I got Thope Lekau who runs the Kopanong B&B to give me a tour round the townships, followed by an excellent lunch at her B&B. I don't think you would normally expect to stay in the part of Cape Town that people were forced into in the 80s and 90s, but it's fascinating and gives you a much better appreciation of the city and its qualities. And you can visit a local pub and listen to music as well if you stay in one or her two nice clean rooms. Her email is [--]. I wasn't sure where to place this report but it's something for the more adventurous
