“Avoid at all cost”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2009

Pros: Good sized rooms but this is the only good thing about this apartment.
Cons: 1. We had read reviews about the traffic noise and being situated on the busiest traffic intersection in Cape Town but nothing can prepare you for the actual noise levels all day and night. Good window insulation would have helped but this aspect was woefully neglected when constructing this building. 2. Even though the apartment accommodates 4 people they refuse to give you more than one key per apartment meaning you can not come and go as you like, especially when going off in different directions. 3. Water pressure from basins and showers are a mere trickle. 4. No dressing table mirror ladies! So make sure you take your own.

“Hotel safe deposit box robbed”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 May 2009

My wife and I stayed here for five days in early May. During that time our hotel safe deposit box was robbed of $760. The remainder of our approximately $3000 in cash and other valuables were not taken. The idea was obviously to take little enough that we wouldn't notice it was gone. When we reported the problem to the night manager, he asked how much was stolen. When we told him he said, "That is way too much." We presume that this means that taking a "reasonable" amount is approved.

The box had an electronic key code that we used and a mechanical key that was available to the front desk. The general manager tried to convince us that the box could not be opened without our electronic key code. When we told her that that was not correct she finally conceded that it could be opened with just the front desk key. She was of no help what so ever and we called the police and filed a report.

Save yourself the grief and don't stay here!

“Not a hotel..... it's better”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 May 2009

We stayed here two nights after arriving in South Africa. Great place with everything you can think of: two bedrooms, two bathrooms, huge livingroom, fully equiped kitchen (with washer and dryer), TV, large balcony etc. etc. Yes it is located at a very busy point, but this means you are only five minutes from V&A waterfront. Restaurants are close by. We did not feel unsafe, though it is kind of spooky at night. The place has an underground parkinggarage, so you can drive in and out rather then walk. Great place to stay !!!

“Be very careful”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 April 2009

Appalling location overlooking one of the busiest road crossings in the City. Pool was tiny and filthy, overlooking the main road. Also in a very high crime area - I was mugged in the middle of the day. My South African friends were horrified by how dangerous it was and made me change hotels.

“It's adjacent to a Lamborghini dealership. It deserves to be!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 March 2009

Prior reviews are entirely accurate. Breathtakingly good room - one of the best ever, out of the hundreds of 4* hotels I've stayed in. My standard room from hotels.com was in fact a two-bedroom apartment with two balconies, full kitchen, separate washer and dryer, two bathrooms, two showers, one huge bath - totally over-the-top and fabulous. As a bonus if you like that sort of thing, it's adjacent to the gay village, an easy two-block walk home from all the bars, pretty safe given it's also next to a police station!

Only irritation is that internet is charged by the megabyte not by the day and is relatively expensive at 60 cents per megabyte.
