“Perfect place, superb owners (hosts), great value.”

We were looking for a comfortable place to stay for a family of 4 for 12 days - this was our first time ever in Cape Town and South Africa. Given our highly energetic children of 9 and 11 it was important for us to find a place they could move around freely while being safe. This place is ideal as it has it all: big and comfortable rooms, a kitchenette, a terrace, a garden and a swimming pool . It also has a braai (grill) in the garden that you are welcome to use.

The apartments are situated in a quiet yet quite trendy neighborhood – it offers stunning views of the mountains, a large selection of restaurants for every taste (and pocket) and it feels safe.

Unlike in other self-catering apartments, you will find the food in the kitchen for your first breakfast and the rooms are cleaned on weekdays. There are also beach towels available so you don’t have to bring your own if you prefer to leave room in your luggage... For a family of 4 it does make a difference (we know as we brought ours from the other end of the world – well, almost).

The place is ideal as is, but what makes it even more special and unforgettable is the very owners. Con and Nui are just superb hosts – we felt as if we were staying at friends’ place… They are welcoming, super friendly and helpful: be it a late night arrival, a plug adaptor malfunction, an early morning doctor search, an on-line ticket booking, what-to-see-and-where-to-eat tips … the list could go on – they are out there for you, always smiling, always willing to assist.

It was a perfect vacation and a home away from home for us and superb value for money. We are definitely planning to be back there one day…

“Fantastic stay in cape town...”

Our son is 17 months old, so my wife decided that we should try self catering instead of a hotel and how right she was!

This place is super, with big comfortable rooms, a kitchenette, sitting room, a garden and a swimming pool - plenty of space for our son to play and being able to make porridge for him on demand was great.

The (new) owners Kon and Nui could not be more helpful, from a smiling meet and greet, helping with our cases and even going to buy us a plug adaptor for our appliances.

We found the location to be perfect - stunning views of cable mountain and, although a quiet residential area (and consequently felt very safe) easy walking distance of the many bars and retaurants on Kloof st.

If you hire a car (and think is is probably a must) the house is a perfect springboard for table mountain, camps bay( ten minutes away) and even going further afield to the winelands or the Cape of Good Hope. It was also very convenient to get into town, and the aquarium and the waterfront is great for kids of all ages.

Only (very very slight) word of caution is that a support beam across the centre of the roof would pose a danger of head clunking to anyone 6ft2 or over - though we were here for ten days and it only happened to me once...

All in all a truly great stay and, when you factor in the cost, absolutely amazing value - couldn't recommend it highly enough for a family vacation.

Room Tip: We stayed in the mountain magic suite

“Tabel mountain view from lovely garden”

My family stayed at the Palm Garden Suite for 3 nights and had a fabulous time. The 2 kids really enjoyed playing in the garden and the swimming pool. Our suite consists of one very large room with a large closet which separtes nicely our bed and the living area with a single bed for our daugther and a sofa bed for our son. There is a small kitchen and dining table to cook small meal, which we used a few times. Our balcony overlooks a lovely tranquil garden with chairs and braai area. One night we bought some meat from the supermarket (3mins by car) to grill at the main braai area on top of the swimmining pool. The table mountain view from there is simply magical. My kids just love this place and we will definitely come here again when we are again in Cape Town.

Room Tip: Palm Garden is large enough for 3 adults or family with 2 small kids. Next time when our kids are bi...

“Brilliant place to stay with amazing views of Table Mountain”

We were in the Mountain Magic suite which had the best ever views from our bedroom! we also had use of the garden which had a great pool and lovely BBQ area. We used taxis to get into town which were really easy, using a freephone number from the apartments. It was great as a family to have a space to chill out. But maybe the best thing were the hosts Kon and his wife. Nothing was too much trouble, they were so helpful. especially sorting out us getting our lost property from the airport. They made our first few days in Cape Town very special, just what we needed. I would definately stay here again. The sheets etc were first class.

Room Tip: I would recommend the Mountain Magioc Suite for the best views ever

“Great choice for families”

We have kids who are too young to sleep in a separate hotel room and too old to share one with us. We are always on the lookout for self catering 2 bedroom accommodations that are typically difficult to find in cities. Mountain Magic was perfect! We felt right at home in this quiet residential neighborhood minutes away from anything we needed.
