I stayed in the Graeme Hotel for the last couple of nights of December 2011. I booked a single room on a B&B basis and I was very impressed. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and bright with tv and air-con. The en-suite bathroom was equally clean and airy, no complaints on the accommodation front. But the piece de resistance was the hearty scrumptious breakfast! Served until 10am it consisted of the usual fresh fruit, juices and cereals plus an excellent cooked breakfast menu which had bacon, eggs, sausages, tomato, beans et al, a truly wonderful feast that sets one up for the day. My next point is the location of the hotel, absolutely perfect for the Waterfront, a 10 minute stroll away and a safe stroll I might add. Next door to the hotel is a great little pub called the Slug & Lettuce, a fabulous waterhole that also serves tapa's and excellent other dishes and indeed all along the Main Road there are umpteen other top class eateries and retail outlets. I give this hotel a top rating, when you visit Cape Town, try it yourself, you will be impressed! I cannot conclude without mentioning the new "MYCITI" bus service. From just across the road from the hotel one can jump on a bus from the "Stadium" stop into the "Civic Centre" stop in the city for 5 Rand and from there to the airport for 50 Rand, it is safe, efficient and great value so don't waste your money with taxis or shuttles, this does the job for a fraction of the price!
