“A first-class stopover!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

After an overnight flight from London to Cape Town, we were more than weary, and really appreciated the warm and friendly welcome that we found here. A glass of chilled guava juice was brought whilst we booked in, and although the room we had booked wasn't available that early, another room was made available for us to shower and get changed in, a gesture that was much appreciated. Cape Cadogan is an oasis of calm, and after walking round the city centre, was a lovely place to come back to. Our room was huge and beautifully furnished, with its own courtyard. The bathroom was similarly luxurious. We only stopped here for one night, but the staff were still genuinely helpful and attentive. We would definitely come back and would recommend Cape Cadogan without hesitation to anyone looking for a touch of boutique luxury in Cape Town itself.

“Lovely hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

Lovely old home converted into a fine hotel in a great location. The staff made the hotel special with very good advice on restaurants, attractions, directions, etc. The shuttle to the waterfront was convenient and the parking was off street if you wanted. The only drawback was the wi-fi service which is currently via voucher from an outside supplier. It wasn't totally reliable. Would recommend they get wi-fi in house as soon as possible to accomodate the modern traveller.

“Nice boutique hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

My wife and I stayed at the Cape Cadogan for day nights in mid January and had the same positive experience as other reviewers. The hotel is nicely decorated particularly in the common areas - rooms are ok. Really comfortable and well sized bed and huge bath with nice rain-head shower. The real selling point is the quality of the customer service - which isn't just confined to the reception team as in some hotels. For eample the friendliness and level of service of the porters was considerably better than most front of house staff in UK hotels. The catering and housekeeping staff are equally as friendly.

It's fair to say that it isn't the quietest hotel that we've stayed in, you will get some residual noise of guests being buzzed in via the access control system but it's nothing that's too bad

One aspect that I don't think has been commented on enough in other reviews is just what a good location the hotel is in. You are ideally situated for just about everything - the hotel is midway between the V&A waterfront and the Table Mountain Cableway and is also circa 5 - 10 mins taxi from Camps Bay via Kloof Nek. Kloof Street boasts some of the highest TA rated restaurants, which are in easy walking distance. Miller's Thumb, Cafe Paradiso and Da Vinci's all really good with the Opal Lounge as good as anywhere we've eaten.

“A home in cape town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

We loved this home hotel where we spent 3 days over New Year festivities. Large spacious rooms, clean, lovely marble bathrooms with double showers and bathtub. Quiet, reserved, staff is polite and attentive to needs. We really felt transported into a different world coming from our busy noisy and polluted Milano. Everything about this colonial style residence has a freshness (probably also due to the extensive use of white...) which makes you feel really good. We specifically did not want to go to the large super modern high rise hotel downtown and this choice was exactly what we wanted. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: There are few rooms, 8 I believe around the home, all rooms have a small balcony.

“Well appointed apartment living”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

The apartments are clean and well appointed. The staff is attentive and professional.Hot and cold breakfast was excellent. Location was very convenient to downtown attractions, Table Mountain and local restaurants. My only warning is that one of our units (number 9?) was on the end and was subject to noise from neighboring apartments. We stayed there during a busy summer period, so that might not always be a problem.
