My friend and I were transferred to this hotel after a booking error at its sister hotel Cape Town Hollow. The staff were very apologetic and offered us an upgraded room, wine, fruit and a complimentary dinner. We stayed in the Green Annexe which has its own entrance. The porter noticed a stain on the carpet which was dealt with very promptly. The rooms are large and comfortable, a particular bonus is the UK/European/South African sockets if you have forgotten an adaptor. The only drawback about the room was the lack of privacy in the bathroom - the sink is in the main room and the door to the shower and toilet area is virtually transparent.

The hotel is well positioned for the hop on/hop off bus stop at the Convention Centre and about 15 minutes walk from the Waterfront. I didn't feel particularly unsafe but it is a good idea to get a taxi at night as the streets are completely deserted, even in the middle of the city.

Overall I was impressed with this hotel. I can't comment on value for money as I had paid to stay in a different hotel.

we stayed at this hotel in nov 10 we found it very convienient to get to every where in capetown also found it safe to walk around the park oppisite also to the supermarket and shops up around the corner where we bought wine and beer at the local spar shop there were also resteruants .we ate in the hotel at night and thought it was very good the waterfront complex shut at 9

First hotel on our Travelsphere tour.

Plus points:- Large well equipped room with very comfortable beds. Friendly helpful staff.

Minus points:- No hot water on 2 consecutive nights (reported but no action). Very poor quality towels. Average breakfast in noisy cramped dining area.
Hotel is not in the best area.

We stayed here at the start of our tour of South Africa. Large rooms with VERY comfortable beds and convenient multi-country socket outlets - including standard UK.The food was pretty good, with plenty of choice at breakfast.Service was slow on one evening, but a word from our Tour Manager resulted in staff doing their most to make amends the following evening - the manager even stood our small group free drinks at the bar !
I would guess that most guests were on business rather than pleasure due to the downtown location, but the tourist areas at the waterfront were only a short taxi ride away. Also, being tucked into a square, it was very quiet considering we were in the heart of town.
Very comfortable - especially those beds !!!
