“Great hotel in the centre of Cape Town”

Easy to find, easy to park and fantastic customer service. We had a great 3 night stay at Cape Heritage and could not fault the place. Breakfasts were amazing and the restaurants within the courtyard were great quality and value. It was well positioned for exploring the city and a reasonable walking distance to the Waterfront. Recommendations from the staff were spot on. They even provided a very last minute picnic for our Sunday open air concert at Kirstenbosch Gardens. I must also say thankyou for keeping my belongings safe after an absent minded departure without them!!
Would definitely stay here again when (and not if) we return to Cape Town

“I was doubtful...”

I picked this hotel based on the wonderful reviews, but I was a little skeptical about some of the claims. We arrived around midnight by taxi. The clerk asked our names, then took our bags from us and led us straight to our room saying that we must be tired from the trip and that we can do the registration in the morning. In all my travels, I never imagined that a hotel would do such a thing for a guest! The welcome you feel at this hotel is unbelievable, and it extended to every contact we had with every employee. The rooms are spotless and excellently decorated - just as you see on their website. Attention was paid to every detail of your stay. If you visit the off-site gym, you are TOLD to take a room towel with you. Take a towel out of any other hotel and alarm bells go off! We were in the largest room for the first night and my daughter must have taken 10 pictures. Since our flight would not leave until midnight the next day, they allowed us one of the smaller rooms for a ½ day rate of 400 Rand, and they moved our bags while we were out. Well worth the cost for a nice shower and long nap before supper and a midnight flight! Even the small rooms were spacious and excellent for an extended stay; canopy bed, windows, plenty of space and a large bathroom with both a beautiful high-back soaking tub AND a separate modern shower! The hotel partners with a local charity and there will be a 10 Rand donation on your bill that they will point out to you and will sincerely offer to remove it. Leave it on, you will feel better. Also, the staff splits tips weekly, so if you are as impressed as we were, it is easy to show your appreciation just one time at the end of the stay. A few other notes: Free buffet breakfast not extensive but substantial. Taxi to/from the airport, 225-250 Rand (~USD32). The taxis called by the hotel charge normal rates and do not start the meter until your travel begins. The open-top tour bus picks up 2 short blocks from the hotel, runs every 15 minutes and gives a good running commentary on the area and local history. The bus makes a stop at the Table Mtn cable car which is well worth the money. Great views, paths and some entertainment at the top! Area around the hotel perfectly safe day and evening, but everyone advises against strolling around the city after 9pm, even mentioned on the tour bus recording. The V & A waterfront is clean, busy, sterile, and looks just like a touristy cruise ship port you can see all over the world; restaurants, jewelry, trinkets, charter boats and no real local flavor. One block down Shortmarket Street is a convenience store, and two blocks further are dozens of restaurants and a square transformed into a very large open market.

“Excellent stay...the start and end of our honeymoon...”

Excellent stay. Every room has been done tastefully and is different. The interiors are excellent and I can say the same about the bathrooms.
We spent 3 nights here, the first 2 nights of our SA trip, and thenthe last one. We had informed them that we were on our honeymoon, and the hotel staff took due care to make it special. A wine bottle and rose petals added to the mood.

The location is excellent, and parking is comfortable as well. Kelly helped us a lot in planning our trip around the region. The breakfast was excellent, and the omlettes and chocolate croissants are must have.

“Excellent Charming City Centre Hotel in Cape Town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

We arrived at 8am, and after being handed a welcome drink were about to have our room - a full 6 hours before check-in time at no extra cost. The staff were great - polite & helpful, without being too "in your face". The breakfast was one of our favourites in all the places we stayed in South Africa - fresh fruit, juices, pastries, muffins and a special every day. We had a problem with our AC not working and our tap water being a little rusty - both of these problems were fixed very promptly.

The rooms & spaces in the hotel are gorgeous, they have character and feel old yet modern at the same time?! The location of the hotel is perfect for the city centre, and there's free parking if you hire a car.

Great value hotel - so pleasantly surprised for the very decent rate. Definitely would stay again!
