if best prices, good location, comfort and exceptional service are what you're looking for, HOTEL ON ST. GEORGES is the place to be.
The way I see it, people will always find fault with establishments, we expect too much yet contribute too little to the outcomes we want.
From the minute you walk in, you can just tell that one can certainly expect a time of their life staying at this hotel. Quick stats:
1. The reservations team is not just friendly but efficient too, same applies to the rest of the hotel staff, from Haassan and Michael at reception all the way to Janet at house keeping.
2. Hotel REALLY provides uncapped FREE Wi-Fi (hint hint business travellers).
3. Rooms are neat, cosy, with all amenities.
4. The FOOD....Devine. I had the pleasure of making up my own sandwiches which would have normally cost over 50 rands at less than half of it...Restaurant staff will bend backwards, forward and side ways to always create lovely meals.
5. The hotel is right at the centre of everything in town, walking distance to most attractions and commuting is almost a breeze as it is RIGHT at the station (if travelling by bus or train) and airport shuttles.

RECOMMENDATION: Dont listen to what everyone says, get down there to experience it for yourself!

Based on what I paid and What I got.... On a scale of 1 to 10 its round about 20. I'm DEFINITELY going back.

We got a really good rate on this hotel and so decided to try it out for just one night upon arriving in Cape Town. For our needs (a place to sleep and short distance from the airport), the hotel was adequate. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was decent, but that's about all I can say. It was nothing extraordinary and my room was actually somewhat noisy from what I assume was a bar outside. Decent, but nothing exceptional.

I stayed there one night in June 2011. The Hotel is right in the city center in a very busy area, 15 minutes from the airport. The room was ok, I liked the carpet which was soft and clean. The bathroom looked like it hasn't been renovated for 15 years, with all these old style tiles and yellowish grout in between. Breakfast was included in the price, but it was very basic, with very poor selection of food on the breakfast buffet. However, I I must mention the service which was great and the waiters were very friendly and polite. I also made a use of their airport shuttle from the airport and back, which was fantastic. In general, I'd recommend it If you're on a short business trip and not worried about all the particulars, not for romantic couples though.
