“Excelent place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

We stayed on Waterkant Village this summer, and had an excellent experience with this hotel. The rooms are clean and confortable, the staff is very helpful and friendly, the location is perfect, near Cape Town centre, but not in there (the centre it´s not so cool to stay), there are a lot of shops, bars and restaurants at 100 or 200 metres from the hotel.

“Ultimate location!”

How can you beat a location where you fall out of your apartment into the middle of everything interesting in Cape Town!! It's an easy walk to shops, restaurants, great cafes, the Waterfront, Green Point and Sea Point, plus the CBD and the District Six Museum. The apartment was fantastic -- in the beautifully renovated, with all comforts, historic ex-slave quarters from the 18th century. Plus an incredible extended rooftop deck with great views of the waterfront, Table Mountain, Signal Hill and the city. My family and I loved it.

I have stayed at De Waterkant on various occasions and have never once had a bad experience. The rooms are spacious, well appointed and clean and the staff are always welcoming and friendly. I shall return again and again.

Room Tip: I have always stayed in the more basic, so called Traveler's Rooms. It is more than spacious en...

“Great locationfor short stay in Cape Town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

We stayed for 4 nights in one of the standard 2 bedroom apartments in De Waterkant Village. The apartment was in a great location with a roof terrace and uninterrupted views of Table Mountain.
The bedrooms in the apartment were a good size with one having an en suite and the other a bath in the room and seperate toilet, however i was a little dissappointed with the living space. The kitchen was adequate for 4 nights, but there was a small table and one small sofa to accomodate 4 adults, which was a tight squeeze. I know when you are in Cape Town you generally dont spend much time in the apartment, but another room, or sofa in the room would have been nice, and maybe a small tv or radio in the living area would have been nice.
Also, one of the car guards knocked on the door asking for his payment as he was not there one morning when we left for the day. this was a bit concerning, especially for my parents who had not been to South Africa before. There was a gate on the front door which meant we generally felt secure, but watch out for car guards, and ensure your gate on the door is locked every night.

“Wonderful stay”

We had a wonderful stay at the De Waterkant. The rooms were well-appointed, and the location was excellent. We will stay here again during our next trip to the Mother City.
