“Absolutely Pathetic”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2010

The hotel is in no way to be considered as 4 star. The Facilities in the room were not even close to 3 star hotel leave alone a 4 star hotel. The rooms were too small and were not at all comfortable. After being out for the whole day we look forward to relaxing in our hotel room but this was hardly the case here. The toilets were divided into two parts which caused a lot of problems for us. The staff is no doubt very cooperative. The lifts were a big problem. We were on the tenth floor. It took forever for the lifts to come. The Beds were a lot smaller than the standard size.

“Great location near the waterfront, but basic facilities for a 4 star hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2010

I stayed at this hotel as part of a trip to the World Cup, so was obviously subject to the price hikes that happened during the tournament. The location was superb, with just a 5 minute walk to the busy Waterfront but also a 5 minute walk into central Cape Town and the cultural sights. A no frills business hotel that works for a couple of nights but not for a longer stay.

1960s furnishings (if that), smelly, poor service, over-priced, wireless internet does not work in some of the rooms, abundant but low quality food, raucous parrot ifreely strutting in lobby, .....

“Had an Excellent Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 June 2010

We came here for the World Cup along with our very active one-year-old. First of all, we found the location to be quite central. There was even the big red touring double-decker bus station right behind the hotel. Took very little time to travel by public transport or taxi to the V&A Waterfront or to the Green Point Stadium. The staff was wonderful to us...from the people at the front desk, to the housekeepers, to the restaurant staff, to the tour coordinator, and to the people stationing at the doors/elevators. They were very friendly to our son and played with him lots! They always had smiles on their faces. They were also very helpful with tips around the hotel and the city. The room are clean...a most basic but important quality! The only minor thing that could be fun to have would be a pool. Overall, we had an excellent stay!

“World Cup 2010 a "good time"”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 June 2010

We staye here during the world cup, the staff were very friendly and helpful, security was very good, rooms are comfortable but not stunning 4 star, food good, if not plentiful....I would say it is ideal for business or a base for sight seeing, not a family "chilling" out sort of place--No Pool etc.. but can't complain, have stayed in much worse...
