“This takes some beating”

If you are planning your first visit to Capetown one of your first considerations, we guess, will be safety. Parker Cottages is located in one of the safest areas of Capetown. We have stayed in this location 5 times now ( not at Parker Cottages before) and walked to local restaurants in the area without experiencing any problems. We always walk into the centre during the daytime but take a taxi to the Waterfront which costs around 50 rand. The accommodation itself is also very secure without creating the impression you are in a fort!
We stayed in one of the 'beautiful' rooms which was clean and comfortable. Breakfast, which can be taken on the veranda or lower in the shady garden, offers good options and friendly service.
Whether you are new to Capetown or visiting again you will find that Phil and Liz are able to to provide many suggestions on what should not be missed on this visit without dictating where you should go or insisting on making a booking for you! They are a hardworking pair who are determined to make Parker Cottages one of the best and they are getting there fast!
The building has an interesting history and an old fashioned charm but it is sufficiently modern in the areas that matter.

“We loved our stay at Parker Cottage”

On arrival we were warmly greeted by Liz, and promptly given advice on the highlights of Cape Town. We were given an early check-in, which we really appreciated following a red-eye flight. We stayed in the Paterson Room, a large room at the back of the property with it's own little courtyard. Unfortunately there was a heatwave during our stay, and without air conditioning the room was a little stuffy. The breakfast service was amazing, regretfully I wasn't able to make it through all the courses on offer. Phil was very helpful with booking tickets, and providing further advice.

“I wish I could give Parker Cottage 10 stars!”

Parker Cottage was certainly one of the highlights of our two-week visit to South Africa. We stayed for three nights and we wish we could have stayed longer. The beautiful house is so comfortable and welcoming, and Phil and Liz’s attention to our every need was warm and unpretentious. It truly felt like we were family friends visiting for the holidays! The evening wine reception on the veranda was a highlight as were the scrumptious breakfasts. Phil was a great source of advice on local sights and restaurants and was quick to handle our reservations. Parker Cottage is a must in Cape Town!

Room Tip: We stayed in the family suite which was spacious and private – perfect for our family of four.

“Beautiful rooms and fantastic service!”

My sisters and I stayed at the Parker Cottage for several days in Jan 2012. We received a warm welcome from Liz and Phil, the lovely couple who own the cottage. Throughout our stay, they and their staff were gracious, warm, and knowledgeable about local sites, dining options, etc. Phil and Liz have a fantastic dining and housekeeping staff, and Chris, their associate was our tour guide for the wine country and the cape peninsula and he is charming, easy going, and knows a lot about a lot.

The rooms at the cottage were beautiful and the Parker Cottage breakfasts were amazing!!!!

We highly recommend the Parker Cottage, and look forward to going back!

We only had one night at Parker Cottage but wish we had more. Great location, lovely rooms, beautifully decorated. We choose this guest house because of the good reviews on tripadvisor and it lived up to and beyond our expectations. Breakfast was our best in South Africa
