We spent a Saturday night here having found a great rate on booking.com. We are attracted to boutique hotels. Le Vendome is actually quite a large hotel. It seems to be been the subject of a very significant upgrade. The rooms are top class, in our experience, the service was faultless, and the breakfast buffet was top class. The location, close to the Sea Point promenade is a significant plus too. The public areas are relatively cramped, and the pool area is not gradiose. Nonetheless, we spent a few pleasant hours by the pool, and chose to share a bottle of wine there before heading out for the evening. Pool side service was excellent. We didn't use the shuttle service, but it is a nice offering. I suspect that I would have been less generous in my remarks had we been paying full tarriff.

My husband and I stayed here with another couple for three nights after spending a week in a beautiful beach villa in Hermanus, so we were not particularly looking forward to being back in a city. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at this lovely hotel just a short walk from the sea in Sea Point or a short taxi ride (or complementary bus) to the V&A Waterfront. The hotel staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, the inclusive breakfast selection was vast and catered for all tastes and we had the small pool to ourselves (may not have been as good if there were more people around).

Overall location was good, with easy access to Camps Bay and V&A nightlife. An added bonus for us was that on the day of our check out we were allowed to keep our rooms until 7pm at no extra cost. The free wi-fi was another extra that we really appreciated. This hotel was recommended to us by a South African colleague and we were not disappointed.

We had a lovely stay here. We were here to discover Cape Town and this hotel was perfect. The free courtesy bus into Victoria and Alfred Dock was great as it meant we did not need to park...and could have a drink or two! The service was absolutely superb, the staff could not do enough for us, anything from booking excursions to a friendly chat at the end of the day. The selection for breakfast was amazing, so much to choose from, and again the waiting staff were superb. The rooms were very large and very comfortable, lovely pillows! I would definitely recommend this hotel as you really do get the personal touch here.

The Hotel was a dissapointment due to the fact that it is tired and old.
It is outdated, especially the beds are old and the air conditioning is very loud. The pool is not heated so too cold to swim. The staff is frendly and helpful but they have a strange system with the mini bar whare you have to request the drinks and refills to be brought each time you want them. The same goes for glasses to drink from.
The breakfast is great though with a lot of frsh food and nice choices. It really however should not be rated 5* anymore - I think it's past that. The location is not very attractive. It is located behind some very dirty and neglected buildings which is the view.
