Visited a few times in the last year and found the hotel to be very comfortable. Priced right and location is central to everything. 5 mins to Waterfront and 15 mins to Century City. Clifton and Camps Bay are approx 15 mins away. The view of the harbour from the rooms was spectacular. Breakfast is solid and they do cater for the Halaal eating guest.
For the businessman spending a few nights this is ideal. Oh and parking is free which is a plus.

South Africa is a lovely country with very upmarket hotels en guesthouse .Stay away from this one .Terrible service .Needs a upgrade .Not in a good part of the city .
New management and a upgrade on the interior will help

I went to Cape Town for one week to attend a conference. The room was fine, but none of the adaptors that I had brought with me from the USA worked. The staff insisted that each room had one that worked with US plugs, but mine did not have one. I had to go out and walk a block to buy one at a convenience store near the hotel.
The bathrooms are fine and very clean. The TV is all in Afrikaans and other foreign languages, but you can get CNN and BBC in English, other channels are pay per view.
The food was fine and varied. The staff have a funny accent and you can get frustrated trying to understand them. They had said my credit card wasn't good, but I was able to use outside the hotel. CHECK THAT THEY HAVE CHARGED YOU THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF YOUR HOTEL STAY IN RAND AND IN US DOLLARS BEFORE YOU LEAVE!.
Some people are not friendly or helpful, especially the night shift. They way they talk they can be perceived as being rude sometimes.
The taxis that hang out outside the hotel lobby are use to over charge you.
I had a room with a very good of Table Mountain, that was priceless!
