“Loved it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2011

The whole place is funky and different. Thee rooms are excellent and the bathrooms are great (wonderful shower). The breakfasts were the best we had along the Garden Route (and given the competition this is a big compliment) and they bought gluten free bread for my wife. When I asked for mushrooms with my eggs on the first day they didn't have any as they do not usually serve them, but on the second day they specifically bought mushrooms for me. They recommended good restaurants and organised cabs, the hosts were friendly and knowledgeable and generally great. The pool deck is fabulous!

“Nice little boutique hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 December 2011

We stayed here for four nights in December and thought it was a wonderful little place with lots of character and well placed for exploring Cape Town. Everyone was very helpful and the rooms are lovely, especially the terrace and the spacious bathrooms. Definitely worth it for a trip to Cape Town.

“So hard to say goodbye”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 December 2011

We stayed a total of 9 mornings, afternoons, evenings and nights at Dysart and can quite honestly say it is by far the most comfortable, most friendly and most delightful hotels we've ever found - anywhere. The fact it is located in the world's most beautiful city is only an added bonus. The staff are wonderful, the owners are very accommodating and the decor is exquisite. Thank you Zinnie, Aneefa and Mischka for looking after us so well. Thank you Constance and Cynthia for keeping our bedroom so clean and tidy. Thank you Martin for sharing so much of your time with us. Thanks Dennis, you made our last night most enjoyable and it was wonderful to share our final moments in Dysart with you. And thank you Peter and Lo - you've got a fantastic homely hotel with the most caring, professional staff. We will be back...

Room Tip: Try the patio room on the ground floor - your own private sun worshipping area. That's if you ca...

“Lived up to the hype for us!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2011

Stayed 3 nights in December. Pretty much a full house while we were there but the staff were attentive and efficient. Special mention to Martin, the night porter & conscienrge, who was a fantastic host and gave us some fascinating insights into living in Cape Town. Neefa's cooked breakfasts were delicious, and this was supplimented by an array of fresh fruit, meat, salmon, breads and the usual cereals.

The accomodation itself is clean and very modern, with interesting art adorning the walls of the reception/breakfast areas - but the highlight was the pool area on the terrace where we spent a couple of sunny afternoons.

As for location, its 15-20 min walk from V+A waterfront but as usual the advice is to avoid walking around at night. Downtown (Long St etc) was walkable, slightly longer but perfectly safe during the day. A couple of nice bars and restaurants round the corner from the hotel as well that are definitely worth a visit - El Burro (Mexican) and a number of others.

Room Tip: Room 1 is huge and opens directly onto the pool area.

“Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2011

What an absolutely fantastic place, enjoyed every minute of our stay here, from the rooms the staff and the resident tourist guide Alex everyone was welcoming, friendly and attentive.
We arrived early which we thought would be a problem but we were given breakfast and then shown straight to our room which was beautifully laid out with its own private coutyard.
We had great advice especially from Denis who showed great passion in his desire for people to enjoy both the hotel and the city and told us the best places to shop, where to eat and where to go and watch the sun go down.
This place is a real gem of Cape Town
