I would struggle to know whether to recommend De Waterkant House or not. We had booked for a twin room and initially were given a lower ground, (small) double room which did not look like it had been redecorated in some time. For what we were paying this was very disappointing. However, having pointed out that we booked a twin, they very quickly were going to move us. In fact they ended up just giving us two rooms. The other room was significantly bigger and nicer than the first one, so there is clearly quite a variation in quality. Breakfast (which is at a cafe nearby) was fine but nothing special. Reception was very helpful, though, and the location was ideal for walking to the V&A and around Bo Kaap and to driving to other locations.
