“Ghastly and overpriced!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2011

Date of stay - one night 9th July 2011 for the Kylie Minogue concert.

The rate charged for a single person was ZAR3,335.00 for a so-called Luxury Twin Room and I say Luxury in the loosest sense of the word. It was tiny. The TV did not wor initially. It had a view of trees - no outside patio. Now my review is based on the fact of what else you can get for the same price as the above. To me, for local SADC members this is outrageously expensive. Firstly, this only includes your bed and breakfast (which was an overcrowded buffet, consisting of cold eggs and breakfast). Now for this price I would have expected the following:
Valet service of my car
Porters
Fruit, biscuits for FREE for this price PLUS FREE BOTTLED WATER
ALL MEALS included (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
and a substantially bigger room.

I would NOT recommend this venue to anyone. It is NOT WORTH the price. At most they could charge ZAR1800 p/p/n but certainly not ZAR3,335.00 for one night. If I am paying that I expect better than mediocre service/facilities available.

I also would expect way more elevators/lifts available for this sized establishment. Needs as serious pricing structure overall.

Room Tip: Do not bother with a Luxury Twin Room - Nothing Luxury about it.

“Exotic stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 June 2011

Stayed over at Hotel Sun City South Africa in the last week of May'11.
Its an exotic hotel with hotels/rooms of various grades & luxury.
The hotel is an luxury of its kind. Value for money.
The entertainment surrounding make its interesting. We had a safari to the Pilensberg National Park. There are cinemas, casinos, lakes etc in the hotel campus.
Also the hotel has The Raj restaurant which serves Indian food. Found it quiet good. Breakfast was also excellent. The stay in this resort is an experience which i will cherish.

“Best place in South Africa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2011

My family and I went on a road trip around Southern Africa and we stopped off at Sun City.

First of all I would like to say a special thanks to Ivan who helped us out a lot.

The city is not just for adults going to the casino. It is also a great place for families.

The City has so many things to do like the many water slides and wave pool, professional golf course, countless tennis courts to name a few. It also has a game
Park which has the big 5.

The rooms at the hotel are very spacious with big balconies. Food is very cheap when you convert it back into Australian dollars so we were ordering numerous amounts of room service.

If you want a good dinner eat At the entertainment centre and not at the hotel. Breakfast was not the best as everything was cold.

I would definatelt stay here again next time I am in South Africa.

Most enjoyable. There is enough to keep both children and adults busy. The Valley of the Waves a great place to spend the day and the alternative entertainment such as movies, games, casino and outdoor activities great

“Nice hotel, friendly people”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 July 2010

Stayed here for five nights. The hotel staff were very nice and helpful especially Betalyn(Spelling!!) , the concierge. Very efficient. Room was clean , and service was excellent. Breakfast was a buffet with a great selection. The Only thing I didn't like about the hotel was it is a casino hotel so therefore the lobby has slot machines , roulette tables etc. It just wasn't what I like. I always thought I would like to visit Vegas. Now I know I wouldn't.! However that was my only gripe. Staff extremely friendly. I would go back but in their Summer this time.
