We came to the park to take photos, and there is great wildlife in this area. However, we had entered the park from further north & it was a bit of a shock to see so many cars around in the area. Especially if you get close to Skukuza! That being said, there still seems to be good wildlife viewing. However, we recommend spending some time farther north (at least Satara) just to get a bit further away from the traffic.
Like most of the park accommodation, the huts are fairly basic, but clean. The shop is pretty decent, but a bit pricy. If you are wanting fresh food (ie. fruit, veggies, meat), you should buy it before entering the park! We ate at the restaurant once, and were very glad that we brought our own food. The restaurant food was basic & mostly unhealthy, however it does have a lovely spot next to the river (go and have a drink!). The rest of our stay we cooked our own food. We had a fridge & a braai. There are electric stoves in communal kitchen areas. The first night we stayed in a bungalow way in the back corner and felt quite isolated as we had mostly employee accommodation around us. The 2nd night was spent at a bungalow right along the river. This was far better than the other one. A great location & a nice set up with an outside kitchen (however very dark lighting inside & the sliding door was very hard to move).
