“A stunning property”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

A magnificent property which the most stunning decor. Lovely owners who take pride in their property. Rooms huge and beautiful. Just needed some stronger air conditioning or a ceiling fan over the bed as the room was boiling hot. Would have been nice if someone carried our bags up to our room instead of us lagging our own suitcases up the stairs (it is a 5 star property so it should be expected) - other than that it was an absolutely stunning place to stay. I would stay there again. Highly recommended!

“Wonderful boutique”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

This was a very cute little hotel that had all the amenities you might want. A small pool with plenty of deck chairs, top notch restaurant & personal service. The guys that run the b&b are very relaxed and the stay will be the same. The location is perfect for walking into town and down to the beach. So for all you basic fun, you can leave your car parked in their secure area.

“A 'find' in the middle of Wilderness”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 November 2011

With the exception of the enormous and difficult to get to beach, Wilderness did not seem to have a lot going for it, but we found them both - Cinnamon and The Girls (Restaurant next to the Caltex garage in middle of town, which was very good and busy) - and in fairness some stunning scenery all around the area. Stayed 2 nights (30th & 31st Oct), arriving from Plett, having driven round and through the Outeniqua Mtns (N9 and then through over the Herold Pass to George & then down N2 to Wilderness from the West - fabulous scenery and route, but steep, tight and narrow - mostly untarred, dirt roads. Tucked away is Cinnamon and a real surprise - larger than expected and than had seemed at first glance - very large rooms dominate and furnishings and decor is very European/Germanic in that there was a lot of material, ornaments, and china displayed on the walls, and their furniture was both large and heavy wood style. Bedrooms were large and again dominated by imposing heavy wooden items, and then in complete contrast - huge, white, ultra-modern bathrooms. Restarant was not Open on the Sunday evening (hence we went to The Girls), but we all ate in on the Monday evening - delightful, delicious and very good indeed. Ditto breakfast, though served in main lounge area, overlooking their deck and pool. Very friendly, helpful and efficient team. We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay. To be so close to the N2 and not be able to hear a single thing was also a major bonus - it made this location a good one to be based at and from which to tour or roam the area

“An oasis in the Wilderness”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 November 2011

Absolutely loved this 'boutique guest house'. Attention to detail unsurpassed, massive rooms with class. Service great too. I left something behind in bedroom drawer which was posted on, without fuss, to our last accommodation on our memorable journey on the garden route . Unfortunately we didn't get to eat dinner in the highly recommended restaurant although it was busy on a Monday night. Always a good sign. Breakfast lovely, nothing too much trouble for the owners.

“Hospitality at its best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2011

This guest house/hotel in Wilderness run by Desmond and Johan has everything to make you enjoyed your stay. The Cinnamon Boutique is a spacious, open plan guest house, beautifully decorated where you are made most welcomed as soon as walk in.
We stayed in a very large comfortable bedroom with a large bathroom, balcony overlooking the pool and the mountains and were sorry we could only stay one night.
The restaurant is also first class for its food and service : probably the best meal we had during the 3 weeks we travelled around the Southern Cape.
What a wonderful place to stay and appreciate what South Africa has to offer.
