With the exception of the enormous and difficult to get to beach, Wilderness did not seem to have a lot going for it, but we found them both - Cinnamon and The Girls (Restaurant next to the Caltex garage in middle of town, which was very good and busy) - and in fairness some stunning scenery all around the area. Stayed 2 nights (30th & 31st Oct), arriving from Plett, having driven round and through the Outeniqua Mtns (N9 and then through over the Herold Pass to George & then down N2 to Wilderness from the West - fabulous scenery and route, but steep, tight and narrow - mostly untarred, dirt roads. Tucked away is Cinnamon and a real surprise - larger than expected and than had seemed at first glance - very large rooms dominate and furnishings and decor is very European/Germanic in that there was a lot of material, ornaments, and china displayed on the walls, and their furniture was both large and heavy wood style. Bedrooms were large and again dominated by imposing heavy wooden items, and then in complete contrast - huge, white, ultra-modern bathrooms. Restarant was not Open on the Sunday evening (hence we went to The Girls), but we all ate in on the Monday evening - delightful, delicious and very good indeed. Ditto breakfast, though served in main lounge area, overlooking their deck and pool. Very friendly, helpful and efficient team. We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay. To be so close to the N2 and not be able to hear a single thing was also a major bonus - it made this location a good one to be based at and from which to tour or roam the area
