Apart from the know nothing service, we were put in a twin room despite saying we wanted a double. We got moved after a farce then we tried having a shower and a bath. To cut a long story short it seems each room only has 100 litre hit water tank. So max 5 mins in shower (that's two times 2 and half mins) or a very shallow bath. Totally unacceptable.
Also the wifi is 100mb per stay. You stay one day get 100mb. You stay 14 days you get 100mb. NOT per day which is rather stupid.
Avoid this hotel at all costs. There are so many hotels in the same location that are mire modern and at the same price.
We arrived at night during World Cup time and were still able to secure a room for a reasonable price (although inflated by FIFA). Futhermore, the staff at the desk was helpful enough to find a newly renovated suite on a non-smoking floor for only a small increase in price.
Three large, young guys were able to fit in the room comfortably, with one sleeping on the sofa-bed and having a good night's rest each of our 5 nights. The room itself was plush, very comfortable and clean. Given that it was newly renovated certainly would have helped but the remainder of the hotel is apparently due to receive this treatment as well after the World Cup is over.
Would definitely stay there again as it is in the heart of Umhlanga - which is safe, trendy and has plenty of restaurants. Also has a great, secure parking lot on your floor which is very convenient.
Unfortunately our group only stayed at this hotel one night. Very clean, large rooms with cooking facility in the room, quiet, rooftop pool (rather small) and nice views of the bach from the room and the rooftop. There were a lot of nice restaurants nearby as well as some shops. I have no negative remarks about this hotel. It was a nice change from what we had already encountered on our South African holiday.
We stayed in the hotel for 1 night as we had to go to a business function at a venue close by. We did not spend much time in the hotel, but we were impressed with the size of the rooms and the amenities in the room. The small kitchenette was nice, although we didn't use it at all. The partial sea-view from the room was also appreciated. The breakfast the following morning was as expected, with everything one offer as per usual. The check-in staff and general staff throughout the hotel was very friendly and we appreciated this as well. We did like the newspaper underneath the door in the morning.
We did not pay for our night's stay (as the business was paying for it), but the morning upon check-out I saw what the rate for the room was for 2 people and was a bit shocked. The amount charged seemed exhorbitant for a 3 star hotel. There are definitely better options for the same amount of money spent.
We enjoyed our very short stay, but for the amount charged, there are definitely better options.
