We were a group going to see the Tri-nations rugby game. The location is excellent for this as not to far from the stadium. Our guest loved the hotel. Unfortunately we had noisy neighbours that got in at around 3am. The phone in our room also didn't work so we couldn't get room service or complain about our neighbours. The rooms are modern and great for couple staying a night or two, not so sure I would enjoy a long stay there. The restaurant seemed to battle with the mid-morning breakfast run. However the buffet was great. Location tothe beach is also great

I have being staying at the Suncoast Hotel and Towers since the day it opened so all the staff members are like family.

I normally stay on the Towers side which is very spacious and my family loves the place. e have stayed at the hotel every December for no less that 10 days for the past 4 years. There is no other hotel that I will stay at in KZN simply because the management and staff are excellent.

During my last visit which was for 5 days, I stayed in the penthouse which is absolutely awesome. Everything was fantastic. The service delivery from the entire team is consistent because I also use the hotel for business.

I then left for the Garden Route on the 23rd. I would like to say a SPECIAL THANK YOU to Xanthos, the Greek MASTER CHEF who over the years has also become a great friend, for the great lunch packs he had prepared for our road trip. It was prepared with care and most importantly it was very tasty. Thanks Mr X and keep up the great work. Its a superb concept.

To Kaliq and your entire team, a very BIG WELL DONE and THANK YOU for ALWAYS making me and my family feel at home. I must also admit that while in Cape Town my kids said that it was very strange not to be at Sun Coast Hotel for New Years Eve.

I recently hosted a 60th birthday celebration at the Suncoast Hotel for my dad. My experience was incredible from the management assistance to the food and service my guests and myself received. On the day of my celebration, we were welcomed by a host of well spoken waitrons whom guided my guests to their tables, the F&B management team were present through out my function ensuring that all our needs were met. The service was amazing, drinks never to be asked for as the waitrons were offering drinks timelessly. Unforgetable would be an understatement for the delcious food that was on the menu. The butter chicken curry, definitely a must have at the hotel.... my guests were so impressed and still are talking about the food. Thank you to the team at Suncoast.. definitely a place to visit!

I was so disappointed with the hotel overall, it claims to be a 4/5 star hotel, however you do not derserve this rating. The rooms are tiny and very intimate. Not ideal for friends or family sharing a room, no bathroom privacy and no space. My PLASTIC glass was not changed for the three nights that we were checked in; I used the glass on the first day. Also, the fitted sheet had a fungus growing on it. We received inadequate towels, no hair shampoo/conditioner, shower gel or body lotion. There was not even capped wifi offered to guests. I've stayed in 4/5 stars hotels all over the world and definitely have a feel for what a first class hotel offers. We spent between R1500 and R1400 a night at the Durban Suncoast Hotel and Towers,we received nothing for this high rate, not even private beach access. I have received better amenities at hotels that have a lower rating and that are much cheaper. The rating of the hotel should either be downgraded and it should start charging less or perhaps consider offering your guests more value for money. .
