How could AAA list and recommended this old, worn out motel that sits between a truck stop and McDonalds just off of I-40 traffic. Located on Route 66, check in takes place, like in 1950s, in a poorly designed, small room where you stand before a booth-like desk. In addition to getting a key you get a TV remote control that has to be returned. The room rate given by AAA was overpriced - $10-$20 the motel's own outdoor advertised rate and other rates up and down Route 66. The Q-bed room was old and worn. Room ammenities were few - a bar of soap, an ice bucket and one small paper basket - no shampoo, facial tissue or even a local guide in the room. There was a small refrigerator and microwave oven. The shower/tub had moldy corners and curtain edging. A/C only went to 72 degrees. There are plenty of other budgetname brand hotels to choose from in this area - check them out first.
