“Perfection in the middle of Sandton”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

I stayed at the Failawns during a business visit to Gauteng (I live in New York). I was astounded at how beautiful this hotel is, the rooms are superb, and make you feel like you are a king, The service we very professional while at the same time very friendly and helpful. I recommend that this be your hotel of choice in the Sandton area.

“Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

This place is wonderful, ridiculous! A total haven in the middle of Joburg's chaos. I could not believe that such a chilled oasis existed just 5 minutes down the road from the business centre of the African continent.

I live in Cape Town, and always try and have spent 8 years doing work trips to the big smoke, always looking for a reason to shorten my trips ... now I will have to look for reasons to stay longer.

Great food, great rooms, great spa, great people and a setting to be seen to be believed.

Room Tip: Room 31 or was it 13... A wonderful suite overlooking the lawns, looked about the best there was.

“Awesome service and beautiful rooms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011

We stayed overnight in Johannesburg enroute to tswalu lodge after spending 10 days in Botswana. What a wonderful spot. We arrived in the early evening and was met by a very attentive staff. We dinner in the Fairlawns restaurant which was the very good. The room was recently redone and was first class all the way. The grounds were impeccable and I would recommend to anyone stopping over in Joburg. Probably as nice a hotel I have stayed anywhere. Also very important to me was the hotel had excellent Wi Fi service available throughout the property.

Room Tip: We were in the chateau and I believe the rooms had been recently redone.

“Fine home and service beats the best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011

Fairlawns has been open to the public in its expanded form of 40 suites for about three years and it is superb in every way: very helpful staff, beautiful grounds and pool, delectable meals in fine dining room open to the grounds, trees, flowers and birds, a suite (one of the lowest priced) that was simply elegant and worked in every way and even a spa that is therapeutic and restful. Go out of your way to get there

Room Tip: Sorry but cannot imagine a "lesser" room in the hotel

“Amazing place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

Having been in 40 countries for business, including SA before, I have seen my share of luxury hotels. The Fairlawns by far is the bet hotel I have ever stayed at. Service, friedliness, helpfullness, quality of food, the room; all impressive eventhough I usually like modern and contemporary. You cannot go wrong with this hotel in my opinion.
