Gracious and elegant, we really enjoyed all aspects of this experience. The welcoming champagne, the fireplace in our room, the private balcony, the beautifully appointed bedroom and bathroom. The service is excellent. A delightful experience

We stayed here for three nights as a part of a tour in South Africa. The place is really a hidden pearl in terms of architecture, general ambiance and food. The rooms are spacious - ours was suite style and I think this is the standard - and make you feel really relaxed. A built in steam room in the bathroom. Minibar was free when we stayed there - very generous. My only wish would have been for the staff to be a bit more assertive and show a bit of attitude that would make you feel more at home. The service was very reserved and too servile. Hopefully this has changed since I was there. Overall, I cannot recommend the place enough.

I've stayed in some incredible hotels around the world and Ten Bompas is one of the most unusual because of the ten "suites" concept. But it's also one of the greatest hotels I've ever visited anywhere -- stayed there twice, on my way in and out of Joburg, rather than with family in the area. The suites are extraordinary - used three different suites (including one during the daytime because I had an evening flight out) and each was very unique and special in its own way. From the street you cant tell there is a hotel on the other side of the building, and the grounds though small are very quiet and peaceful. A truly incredible place to stay. Staff were also very friendly and helpful. Ate many of my meals in Sides, their restaurant, and invited my family and friends over as often as I could. You cannot go wrong staying here!!!!!

An Amazing hotel! We stayed for two nights (Christmas Eve and Christmas day). Beautiful rooms and very nice bathroom, complimentary bar available in your room which was always re-stocked. Whenever we returned to our room treats were left (champagne, chocolate, cookies etc).
We had our Christmas dinner at the restaurant - it was lovely and Dave the Scottish manager showed us around the wine cellar and helped us select our wine (which was fantastic).
The real highlight was the friendly and appreciative staff always on hand and so polite to us.
I would recommend Ten Bompas to anyone going to Jo'burg, we will certainly return!
