I've stayed in some incredible hotels around the world and Ten Bompas is one of the most unusual because of the ten "suites" concept. But it's also one of the greatest hotels I've ever visited anywhere -- stayed there twice, on my way in and out of Joburg, rather than with family in the area. The suites are extraordinary - used three different suites (including one during the daytime because I had an evening flight out) and each was very unique and special in its own way. From the street you cant tell there is a hotel on the other side of the building, and the grounds though small are very quiet and peaceful. A truly incredible place to stay. Staff were also very friendly and helpful. Ate many of my meals in Sides, their restaurant, and invited my family and friends over as often as I could. You cannot go wrong staying here!!!!!

An Amazing hotel! We stayed for two nights (Christmas Eve and Christmas day). Beautiful rooms and very nice bathroom, complimentary bar available in your room which was always re-stocked. Whenever we returned to our room treats were left (champagne, chocolate, cookies etc).
We had our Christmas dinner at the restaurant - it was lovely and Dave the Scottish manager showed us around the wine cellar and helped us select our wine (which was fantastic).
The real highlight was the friendly and appreciative staff always on hand and so polite to us.
I would recommend Ten Bompas to anyone going to Jo'burg, we will certainly return!

I stayed at Ten Bompas a few years ago and still remember it vividly. It is an amazing oasis in the middle of the city, very chic and elegant, but not snooty. And the bathrooms and fireplaces are to die for. Stay here and you won't be disappointed. Unfortunately, the price has almost tripled in the past three years, but the Rand has appreciated quite a bit since my last visit to South Africa.

We stayed here three years ago and liked it so much that we stayed here again on a one night stopover between flights. Very friendly and efficient staff.Complimentary laundry done in a few hours which was a great help mid holiday. Great restaurant.
