“Good food, great room, and nice property”

Unfortunately, I did not get to fully experience this hotel as I flew in to Johannesburg late in the evening and flew out early the next day; however, the hotel room was great: clean, large and they thought of everything including, fully stocked bar fridge, in room movies, and DVD. The grounds looked impressive and relaxing from what I saw in the morning and the morning breakfast was very good. The check in was seamless and the staff were friendly.

“Could Do Better For 5 Star”

Third visit for business but hotel / staff more 3/4 than 5 star. Checking into room the safe had been left locked by prior occupant despite 6 phone calls to reception this was never dealt with so effectively no where to secure valuables for entire stay. No milk with tea/coffee facilities days 1 and 2 and have full drinks in minbar. So overall quite a few hassles for an expensive 5 star. Try the Melrose sister hotel Fire and Ice in sam complex. Half the price, double the vibe!

“great hotel, lovely staff”

This hotel is in a great safe location, lots of cafes and restaurants in short walking distance as well as a decent size supermarket.
From the time of check-in staff were very friendly and attentive. Check in was efficient and any queries over smoking rooms as travelling in large group were dealt with quickly. The staff were on hand at all times to answer questions on trips and tours and always had big smiles on their faces.
The hotel itself is clean and the rooms are a good size. Bathrooms have large bathtubs (with rubber ducks!) and also rain showers that are nice and powerful. The hotel has a modern feel even though it is 9 years old and it is interestingly lit throughout. DVD's are provided in each room and a great tv/sound system is built in.
Breakfast is a decent standard, as are main meals if you chose to stay in although there are many cafes to chose from nearby.
Overall a great location, great hotel and staff who make you feel part of the family.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to my next stay.

“Amazing hotel with great staff”

I booked this hotel for my girlfriends 30th birthday. We had an amazing stay, although the hotel forgot to make up the room as requested (with flowers and cake) they made it up the day after by providing complimentary champagne and birthday cake. The staff are unbelievably friendly and accommodating.

The hotel itself is a great location and designed very well, form the quirky safe and rubber ducks in the bath to the interior decor.

I'd definitely recommend this hotel

“Nothing too much trouble...”

WOW! An amazing hotel in a safe area of Joburg... Surrounded by cool restaurants and shops... All the staff are super attentive and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are clean, modern and have some cool features, dvds, dvd player, surround sound, scented candles and rubber ducks for the bath! I would definately stay here next time I return to Joburg!
