Oh My Goodness. After a 15 hour flight from the states, what a pleasure to stay in such a beautiful, luxurious place. One of the friendliest and most helpful staff I have ever seen, anywhere in the world. The ladies at the reception desk helped us decide which native markets to shop at that were safe, authentic and fun. They also got us on-site transport that dropped us off and picked us back up - so we had no worries about being two gals alone in a strange city. The menu on the terrace cafe was appropriately varied and the South African wine was top notch. Okay. I just have to mention that I could have lived off the butter from grass fed cows that was served with delicious bread! When our very early flight out didn't give us but 10 minutes for one of the most beautiful breakfast buffets I've ever seen, the waitstaff kindly and cheerfully packed us a to-go tin foil packet that had goodies such as smoked salmon and creamed cheese with capers and apple brioche that we ate in the taxi to the airport. Hip Hip Hooray for The Westcliff. We got it just right!
