There are many luxury high end hotels in the city but the Westcliff trumps them all for sheer service, atmosphere and originality. We stayed over for a mini break on the weekend of the 10th to celebrate an early Valentine. I was really blown away by everything at the hotel - sitting by the infinity pool at the Terrace deck its hard to believe you are in the centre of a huge city. The view of trees and over the Joburg Zoo is just spectacular. Service is impeccable without being overpowering. Cuisine is amazing, the winelists and cocktails are fabulous and the whole experience is sumptuous without being pretentious or over the top.

We stayed in room 203 which was towards the top of the hill the hotel is built on - perfect for easy access to the restaurant, Polo Bar and spa. I loved the room balcony and the private splash pool was a thoughtful addition as the main pool area down at the Terrace can get a little crowded and too public.

The bedroom was beautiful, clean and comfortable with lots of inspired touches like the concealed tv screen at the foot of the bed and filter coffee sachets as well as instant.

We finished our stay with a spa treatment which was beautifully done.

What can I say - I'm a fan!!! If you'd like to feel you're in a James Bond movie, book in to the Westcliff, its a magical and amazing experience!

Hard to find the words descriptive of this amazing hotel, but then it is an Orient Express Property. The short stay I experienced there just three days/nights, will always be remembered as a most pleasurable one. During this trip, I was lucky to experience many beautiful properties such as The Westcliff, the amazing spa always a treat, drinks and food excellent. Infinity pool is so enjoyable and shall I say "infinite". Well worth the time and expense. Many sights close to hotel to view and enjoy, nice walk area (little hilly, rocky, but challenging).

Had a great stay. Spa was brilliant. very attentive staff. Rooms are very clean. Breakfast is a bit expensive for what you get, but everything else make up for it.

We recently stopped here twice when passing through J'Burg. Its a beautiful hotel set on a hillside with superb views. Its also very charming as you take a small trip up the winding path/road to your room.
From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble.
