What a wonderful stay if you are prepared to pay a bit more! The attention to detail was great, the state-of-the-art bathroom and comfortable room very nice indeed! Peacefull surroundings, mouth-watering breakfast....Need I say more? Be nice to yourself, indulge a bit and stay here next time!

I had the chance to stay at the Irine Country Lodge when I traveled to South Africa to start a new job and I was really pleasantly surprised. The property is beautiful with stunning morning and evening views from the large balcony - you overlooked a pond that was home to exotic water fowl. The grounds were well kept, the rooms were comfortable and the staff wonderful to work with.

I found the buffet breakfast (Traditional English items and more) really good and the outdoor dining with the scenery just enhanced it. I only had dinner there one night of the 4 that I was there and I found the food really yummy and well done with a great glass of South African red wine.

The Bar at the Irine was the coolest bar I have ever been in - "manly" to a fault with comfortable leather chairs, dark wood paneling and an outstanding collection of spirits. Service in the bar was impeccable as well. I recommend the Lodge to anyone looking for a relaxing place to stay near Pretoria or Johannesburg.

Rooms are large enough. Not far from the Centurion Mall and Techno Park. Either not very far from the Menlyn Park.

Visiting family in Pretoria on Joburg, we decided to stay at Irene. This is a very pretty place! The rooms are extremely impressive. Very spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff is very nice and welcoming. The front desk always had delicious home baked goodies to try. The food was also excellent. This is a very beautiful area – the Irene Dairy Farm is worth a visit. Don’t make the mistake of passing up the freshly baked cakes, you’ll regret it! There is also a restaurant at the Dairy Farm that looked very nice. The only thing to watch out for is bird droppings and thorny bush on your walk around the pond. Tip - for the best rate, call the hotel directly and ask for a special package. Enjoy!
