Our family has visited the Irene a number of times. For long stays and short holidays and we cannot fault it. Rooms are spacious and luxurious and surroundings very relaxing. Service was excellent from all the staff and management who were wll very pleasant and helpful. We did recognise a few faces so they must be loyal too!! The chef Nelson was great and he really went out of his way to ensure the food and service was first class. I have noticed that the prices have increased quite a bit since our last stay but there is much more on offer now with the Spa. Would recommend this highly. Beautiful accomodation within a lovely setting and a fantastic restaurant too...

The lake is beautiful and the rooms are nice and spacious but the restaurant lets the side down and makes it seem overpriced. I have stayed in equally nice places at a lower cost and would recommend to anyone to eat elsewhere.

We stayed there on the package deal, where you get a treatment, dinner and room for the night and breakfast.

We were amazed with the setting-simply beautiful! Really breathtaking.

Service was excellent- everyone really went out of their way.

Spa- wonderful spa and we had a great massage in a couples room. Only thing is the people before us ran late , which made us run late! So we only left the spa at about 7:45pm, leaving not much time to get back and go to dinner.

The room is lovely! Only negatives- they first gave us a room that smelled of smoke- yuck! then it took quite a few tries to find another room that was made up and had a good view. The shower is also not the best- smelled like mildew. Awesome bath, though.

Dinner- we had the seafood dinner. Lovely piano playing. The entrees were excellent- salmon and soup etc. Main course, the prawns were good. Dessert OK.

All in all- a lovely stay!

We booked the "Romantic Package" and the value we got out of it exceeded by far our expectations. Most remarkable was the excellent service (I'd like to point out Samuel from the Restaurant at the Spa and Beatrice from the Reception here) - the staff really went the extra mile.
One thing to keep in mind: When you book a package you should schedule your Spa treatment in advance to secure a time slot that suits you most.
