We were staying here due to our sons wedding being held in East London. Nowhere in any literature about this hotel does it tell you that it is attached to a cinema and shopping mall, hence the lobby of this hotel is used as a walkway from the carparks to the shops. The reception girls are great and helpful - shame the rest of the staff let this hotel down. From arriving at our room - the door would not open, not because of the swipe key but because the frame had warped! The air con (temp was mid 30's+) did not work well and there was not mini fridge in room for cold drink , ice ect. The phone kept cutting out during calls(the wire was changed 3 times) The pool - (the only access to the pool was through a conference room or through the restaurant- which if being used meant you inconvienced other guests) was not cleaned even thought the machine was in the pool it was not switched on, and there was broken glass all around the pool which we reported and was still there 3 days later. The restaurant staff looked bored- there were too many on at all times so they were just standing around, and when they were attending to you they were like forgetful snails!
It took 21/2hrs to get a needle and thread to sew a button on my sons shirt for the wedding and then the following day we go 5
The saving grace of this hotel was the food which was wonderful and considering it was a hotel extremely good value.
